Death at EMU

Well...I hope we will all think twice about drinking and taking drugs after you read this...

Early New Years Day the Greek Community at EMU was changed forever. Keith Cholette, a sophmore, died from alcohol poisioning and an over dose on ecstasy. He was part of Sigma Tau Gamma here at Eastern. When I found out I was so sad. I had met Keith quiet a few times at the Sig Tau party's. We used to laugh and joke all the time. Now that will never happen again. It is just sad. Hopefully everyone will think long and hard before taking drugs and drinking too much. I know this will change my life forever. I hope the Sig Tau's don't get into to much trouble because their party was not that big at all. I guess you can not even say it was a party. There were maybe 15 people there all together. I stopped by for a few minutes, and then headed over to my house. I dunno, I just hope their chapter does not get pulled or anything because of this. How do you overdose on MDMA? I am not sure thats biochemically possible in any normal sense.

Excstacy cuases you to get hot very easily. If you don't drink enough water or get medical attention you can overheat and die. On that same token, you can get so hot that you overhydrate yourself drinking water and die. So, even if you don't OD, there are lots of dangerous side effects that CAN kill you.

Is that usual? Like a common occurence? Dangerous over heating?

The more you take, the worse it gets. So, it usually only gets to be fatal if you've taken like 3 or more. It's the most common cause of death from the drug.

While not knowing all of the information, the sad part is if He took it on his own.

I detest the Death of any Greek Member especially under these types of circumstances.

If it was given to him without his knowledge, then, it is felony crime.

I'd like to get on my soap box here for a second-E can kill you-no matter what you think. I took care of a kid-and yes, I say kid because he was only 23, that had OD on Xtacy-and wound up a vegetable. He couldn't talk or move or crap on purpose...he simply was in the bed....and did nothing...we had to do everything for him..is that a life??
No matter what you think-Xtacy will hurt you..please don't do it...

The past couple of weeks have just not been the same around here. Since it happened. I know while I was at work I had some media people come in and try to interveiw me, but I was not allowed to say anything to anyone. I am sure I wouldn't have anyways. It was a sad time for me and I didn't want to talk about it. From what I am hearing around here...he started drinking at noon or something, I thought it was three in the afternoon, but I guess it was noon, and then he went over to his house. Where some where along the way, or at the house he got the X, and the Sig Taus are going through some very big trials right now. They might be loosing their chapter. Who knows. Well I am outta here for now. That is all I know.
