No. That's not scary. There really are some very distinct personalities behind these screen names.

How addicted am I???? I am dreaming about you people!!!!

I have really (REALLY) intense and long drawn out detailed dreams -- the kind where you wake up exhausted -- well here's my greekchat nightmare --- I don't have any clue where this all came from....

Well, we were all living in this one section of town (a big city somewhere) in like our own community apartments or whatever. Well we realized that we had a stalker lurking after us on GC, and we were trying to rat him out. So we devised this big plan, and we decided we'd have to let him come to us so we could turn him over to the cops. Well somehow he figured it out, and he kidnapped AKA2D and took off with her, but none of us knew it. So when ZetaAce realized what had happened, she called an emergency meeting so we could go get her back. We all had certain places we were supposed to go hang out and search for her - well I ended up at the mall (surprise surprise) and all this stuff kept happening (like I couldn't get off the 2nd floor) and even though I could see the bad guy on the floors above and below me, I couldnt't get off the 2nd floor. Kevin you were there with me trying to figure out how to get up there, and Carnation, you were checking the pet stores out and buying dog food Anyway -- in the end, we all worked together and AKA2D was returned safely -- its so funny because you were all (the regulars that is) there -- I just wish I could remember how I pictured you all in the dream. Why do I feel like Dorothy at the end of the Wizard of Oz when she was trying to tell everyone they were in her dream Weird huh! I gotta get some help !

Oh yeah, Lifesaver, oddly enough - you were driving the car at the end when Carnation was unloading all the dog food.

I am telling you guys - you were ALL in the dream - I didn't remember all of your screen names, but the people I chat with most were all there!

Anyone want to pay for my therapy?!

AXO Alum,

I love that story. It is hillarious. Thanks for sharing it with us. I'm glad I could be of service. Nothing like some cloak and dagger or mission impossible scenarios. Lifesaver, you got it We could make this story into a soap opera. The Days of GreekChat Lives. J/K

Kevin

Hi. I'm Amy and I too am a greek chat a holic. Thing is, my Greek days are 10 (?!) years behind me... I signed on last week when I realized my 10 year college reunion was coming up and got all nostalgic (and a bit freaked out, how is it possible that I am that OLD? ha ha)... and now, well...

Me, couch, laptop, ordering take out, cause I spent all weekend reading everything on these boards.

Sad. sad. sad.
ha ha

I am addicted to GreekChat as well. I check for new posts at least 5 times a day. I don't post much, but I love this site!

That's the day I registered. But by then I was already addicted. I lurked for months before I posted!

I've managed to taper off to a few times a day. All after I get home from work! Now that I have DSL, I know it'll get worse. But thank goodness we have good firewalls at work. I would've been fired a long time ago if I had access to this.

Some of you have been on here longer than I have. Some of you, I remember when you first came. Others have come and gone. What happened to them? Where is Heather? Where is our UCLA Theta Chi? Who are these people that have the willpower to post once and never return!?!? Don't they know I'm dying of curiosity about them!? How'd their rush turn out? How did they handle their issues w/ their chapter? Why do they tease me so?

There's so many regulars on here I think of it not just as a group of Greeks. But as a FRATERNITY OF GREEKS. Does that sound just too cheesy? We jump all over eachother and to eachother's defense; just like brothers and sisters do! We are fam-il-ly!

If it weren't for this site, I'd have very little reason to get on the internet. I can't not come here. I can't skip over it. There's too many conversations to skip!

How many other sites are there where you can discuss your favorite makeup and race relations in America in just one stop!?!? I can't think of one!

I love greekchat. I want to marry greekchat. I want to have 10,000 of its babies!!! LOL

Lord, help me!

Red face

I have a confession!!!

Eventhough I've been on here for over a year, I still can't edit my posts! <brush away the tears> I also still haven't figured out how to bold things, or quote someone w/out cut&paste. My biggest skill is smiley faces. And it took me months to find the legend!

LOL SoCalGirl...

Only I'm not laughing toooo hard cause I've only been here about a week and I already feel the same way.

You all may not know me yet, but I know you. I read posts alllll weekend to get caught up...now I'm sorry I did that, cause there hasn't been nearly enough to read these past few days...

So let me introduce myself--
Hi. My name is Amy. I'm anAlum from the University of Southern California...and...I'm addicted to Greek Chat.

Isn't admitting it the first step to recovery? That's what they say...somehow, here, I doubt it will apply!!!!

SoCalGirl,
Just to make you feel better (even though i know the answer is in a thread somewhere else) to edit your own post, just click on the little piece of paper with a pen icon on top of your message as it appears in the thread. you'll have the option or edit or delete your post.
i haven't been able to master the bold thing either. i gave up trying .

Leslie

To edit:
Click on the icon above the post that looks like a pencil on paper (next to last icon) -- when you move your mouse over it, it should say "Edit/Delete" -- when you click on it, you'll be taken to the box where your post is. Go into that post and make your corrections. Then click "Submit Now". If you want to delete the whole post, there is a box at the very top (before the post) that says "Delete? To delete this post, check this box."

To bold:
Before the sentence/word you wish to bold, type [ and the letter b and then ] to close (if I actually type it out - you won't be able to see it because it will look like this! Then when you are done with the part you want to bold, type [ then / and then the letter b again and then close with ]

To italicize:
Same as bold except change the b to i inside of the [] and remember to put /i inside the [] to stop it.

To quote someone without using cut and paste, you must click on the last icon above the post that will say "Reply with quote" (it looks like a piece of paper with a red arrow facing right on the side of it) -- if its only one or two things you want to quote, then when you get into the message, go up into the person you are quoting's message, and delete what is not relevent (this way we don't all have to see the whole post again -- especially if its really long!)

Hope this helps some -- email me if you want more info! Always happy to help!

AXO Alum
