Manicure Sets

My friends and I exchanged Christmas presents last night, and one of my friends filled a little stocking with all sorts of fun things. She gave me a manicure set. Some of the things in it confuse me though. There is the little fork looking thingy and a half moon shaped thing. I always have to keep my nails super short for my nursing clinicals so I'm not exactly into all of the manicure-y nail things....so can anyone fill me in on what those two things could be for?

The fork-looking thingy might be a cuticle cutter. Without pictures it's hard to say. But the cuticle cutter looks likes a forked tongue that you run (carefully) along your cuticles, but before doing so, you use the other end to push the cuticles down to the bed to make it easier for you to cut.

How big is the half moon-shaped thing? Maybe it's a template you use on each nail to do a french manicure?
