Local Bands
Anyone know any good local bands. I always love unsigned, local, upcoming talent. My personal favorite is Faully. The drummer is even greek! He is a Sigma Nu here at Minnesota State. Check out their band (you can even listen to them)...

One of the best in the Detroit area is Blackberry Brandy. Sadly, they just moved to a new bar and I'm bummed out because the new one is farther away.

Go Jimmy Go! is my all-time favorite local band. Their sound's a blend of funk/soul/ska and I remember when they were first starting out when I was still in HS. Since then they've toured with the Vans Warped Tour all around the country.
Pepper, my boys from Kona Town and childhood buddies with my best friend. I love it when they're back in town. It's always a raging party with these guys. Excuse me while I light my spliff!

Parallex.
I know several of the members (Josh and I joke-flirt) and am good friends with the band's manager Bethany.

I heard them at Simon's a while back. They were pretty good!
I just heard Rusty Lunchbox last night and I HAD to buy their CD. Great cover songs, and their own are just too good to pass up.

I am sure that Olemissglitter will back me up when I say that Jim and the guys from the now defunct Palo Alto were really cool. I consider them to be a former local band.

Starcrossed
The bass player is my Kappa Phi sister's boyfriend, that's how I first heard of them. They're pretty cool.

As posted in Greek Life....
Old Mil, an up-and-coming rock band (yes, the likes of Poison, Bon Jovi, Crue and Violent Fems...and a ton of their own stuff) located in the greater Milwaukee area - check them out.
Began with four Beta's back in college - now consists of three Beta's and two other guys. They play all over the state of WI:

Sunday Morning Massacre
If you are ever in North Alabama, see if Sunday Morning Massacre is playing anywhere. Or better yet, see if I'm around---just email me, and we'll see if they are even just jamming in their practice room. If you like heavy metal, this band is the one for you. Check out 3 of their songs, MP3's on soundclick.com:

My ex-boyfriend is the drummer in a San Francisco- based band. They are really good! They've been touring up and down the west coast. Their website is here and they have a Myspace music page too: Pidgeon
