Post Shorts-too short

Does anyone think the shorts out now a days are too short? I seriously have trouble finding shorts wear my butt won't hang out. I also don't like too long of shorts because I am short and they look silly on me. Girls have to be careful of our image and we don't want to look slutty, but it is kind of hard when that is all there is out there. I also think too short of shorts feel like a constant wedgie. What do you all think? I have a pair of Tommy shorts that are kind of long but they don't look right. They wouldn't look good with a halter. Plus they make my stomach fat!UGH!!!!

WAAAAAAAAAAY back in the day when I was young, these were called "Hot Pants." There is actually still something in my high school dress code that says "no hot pants allowed!"

But I totally agree - you have to keep sucking in your booty (and I have a BOOTY) or the things creep up. I have 2 pair I bought at Lerner last year and I still feel so self concious in them. It is either the short shorts or the long soccer mom pleated things that you have to wear with penny loafers. (no offense to the shorts-wearin' soccer moms out there)

Try guys' shorts and see if they fit better - sometimes that is a good solution. It's usually just a matter of an inch or 2 to make it hang right.

I got several pairs of shorts this year at Talbots, so you might want to give that a shot if there is a store in your area. They're not too short but they're not the awful soccer mom-looking things 33Girl mentioned either. Also, remember to avoid pleated fronts because they tend to create a belly unless your stomach was practically concave to begin with!

What is it with the 12 year olds who wear the short shorts? Thats nasty. I mean, youre already in that gangly akward stage where your body is growing rapidly at wierd times in wierder places, and you wear those short shorts? It makes you look like a freak. You know where the girls legs look about 5 feet long because of the shorts, yet they body is about 2 feet long.

ALSO PLEASE tell tall girls to not wear short shorts. We really dont need to be drawing attention to the fact that you're already 12 feet tall. You look like a spider.

What's wrong with being tall? You DO realize that our legs are just longer and no short is gonna cover it. I wear a size 6 at 5'9. My 5'2 friend also wears a 6. No matter what us tall girls wear--shorts, skirts, pants, our legs are gonna look a mile long. And we consider that a good thing.

I guess I should have been more clear. Tell girls that are REALLY tall not to wear shorts. Aint nothin wrong with being tall. And in Texas, 5'9 aint tall. I'm speaking 6'1-6'3 kinda tall. There is a girl in one of the sororities here at my school that is 6'2 and wears the short shorts. She looks like a daddy-long legs. Regular shorts wouldnt be a problem, but really short shorts, with the booty hangin out, like the 12 years olds wear? Come on. You shouldnt wear those if you are over 16. And especially if you are over 6ft. If you are really tall, I dont care, wear them if you want, but I can gurantee that as soon as you pass buy, the guys are gonna start talkin, and it wont be polite. It will be crude, and I have heard the chicks talk evil too. I am sure somewhere out there in this universe of ours, theres gotta be shorts that fit the really tall girls. Just because express sells it, doesnt mean everybody entitled to wear it. Sorry. amy, I am sure you look fine. You seem to have taste, so I wouldnt be worried. But its like porn, I cant describe it, but I know it when I see it, and I am sure you have seen what I am talking about.

Just so you all know Ann Taylor has a great deal on cotton shorts for $14.99. I got the most comfortable khakis. I don't know about the rest of you, but for rush all of us must wear khakis and our shirts during one of the days! So check out Ann Taylor.

Am I the only one who likes short shorts? I dont like anything long... Im very picky. I will only wear flare jeans, or bell bottoms, I wont wear straight leg pants. I wont wear normal tank suits, they have to be racerback. I dont like my belly button covered by my pants...

but power to the BOOTY!

I agree, I'm very picky about stuff too. I look stupid in long shorts. I also refuse to wear straight leg jeans.

It's not that I don't like short shorts, but I feel that guys look at you a little differently if you wear short shorts. I think sometimes they make people look easy especially if you wear a skimpy top with them. Plus I'm a skinny girl with a big caboose.I don't want to hurt anyone if I let some fall out of my short shorts. I personally don't like to be picking shorts out of my butt all day either. I agree about straightleg pans- I refuse to wear straight leg. i only wear flare. I also only like Express pants so far.

This is a topic close to my heart..haha.. I am 6' and finding shorts is a nightmare!! You've got two choices: old lady shorts that hit at the knee or those really skimpy ones. Would it kill the stores to carry some kind of middle ground shorts without the pleats that are cute?! I am sick of them catering to the little 12 year olds!!

I'm EXTREMELY picky about jeans. Can you believe this - I will only wear very faded denim OR very dark (stonewashed) denim. I also will not wear straight leg - only bootleg or flare. My friends all know about my pickiness and make fun of me all the time .
