Post Songs that make you remember

Everyone has their favorites - those songs you hear at a bar or club and dance along too. That when you hear them later on - you remember back to fun times with friends, sisters and brothers. Lets hear what they are - I am prompted to post this after hearing American Pie on my radio - that must be the one song where my SIUC friends whenever we are out gather in large circles and go along with it - I'm sure others know exactly what I am talking about.

Other songs of mine:

"Let's hear it for the Boy" - on Footloose soundtrack - memories of Gatsby's - an SIUC bar - freshman year

"I hope you dance" - Pref party and sisterhoods

Too many times we stand aside and let the waters slip away. 'Til what we put off 'til tomorrow has now become today. So don't you sit upon the shoreline and say you're satisfied. Choose to chance the rapids and dare to dance the tide. ~ "The River" Garth Brooks

The only party songs that remind me of Chi Omega...or should I say my chapter in Chi Omega...is Brown Eyed Girl which we lovingly changed to MY CHI-O GIRL. My pledge semester the Beastie Boys came out with Intergalactic and at our new member sleepover we sang 'Intergalactic Chi Omega, Chi Omega Intergalactic'...lol, guess you'd have to be there.

Other than that...
We've Got the Beat - the Go Go's
Sisters Care - Mulberry Lane
and
These Are the Days - Natalie Merchant

This is the best topic! Every time I hear a song on the radio, I'm like, "This reminds me of..."

Bills, Bills, Bills - Destiny's Child: 1st semester of freshman year, going to Club Tango EVERY Thursday night

the Abercrombie & Fitch song by LFO: pledge retreat...but it's an inside reason why

Closing Time - Semisonic: senior year in HS, going to Waffle House at like 3 am

I could go on forever, but those are the ones that pop into my mind first.

dat country song "ive got a friend" or something--they play it in our parties and we all gather in circles with our arms in one another's waists and sway side to side as we (drunkenly)sing. lol.

Closing Time by Semisonic-the last song that played in my ex's semi formal and we just swayed there in each other's arms...sigh. I look back on that night everytime i hear it.

Wannabe-singing it w/ my best friend back when i lived in the philippines, we sang it as we get dressed for parties, etc.

Jumpin Jumpin by destiny's child-getting dressed for parties every friday or saturday night w/ my friends in the dorms

The LFO song is "Summer Girls"

I love 'I Hope You Dance" and "No Such Thing" (John Mayer) I'm trying to listen to it now. It's a great song!

i like this thread

Wow, so many.

"Pour some sugar on me" will always remind me of my Big Laura! I will forever have images of her "taking the bottle...shaking it up!!" haha....i hope she sees this too

"Hey Ya" by Outkast of course reminds me of my Little Rayna

"The King of Wishful Thinking" will always fondly remind me of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity for reasons that will remain unknown (unless of course, you are my big haha) (to all LXAs out there, dont worry, its nothing bad!)

"Can I Get A..." by Jay-Z will forever be a high school reminder

and "Ocean Avenue" by Yellowcard will always make me go into a sentimental daze over a certain someone
