Lightbulb Donkeys & Elephants? No. Cats & Dogs!

Democrats as donkeys? Republicans as elephants? Donkeys vs. elephants? None of that makes any sense.

I say that the Democrats adopt cats as their mascots, and that the Republicans adopt dogs as theirs. Cats vs. dogs. That makes sense.

Democrats:

Republicans:

Cats are definitely Democrats. They self-domesticated for free food and shelter. If an important task is required of them, they run away. In other words, they're on welfare, and not even workfare.

Dogs are loyal. If trouble rears its ugly head, they don't run off to Canada. Dogs will stay and fight. Definitely Republicans.

Cats: don't show affection to their owners, other fellow cats, really anyone, and constantly lick themselves.

Dogs: affectionate with anyone, everyone, anything, everything.

Thus dogs are clearly in support of gay marriage and don't take issue with homosexuality - so they'd be Log Cabin Republicans at best.

Dogs can also be trained and learn new things, thus showing an open mind. Cats are stuck in tradition and doing things the way they've alwaysbe done. This is sort of like views on Constitutional interpretation. Dogs are activists, cats are strict interpretationists.
