To make a long story short, my boss is also an AZD and she donated her quill to me because she wanted to. I want to give it to the chapter to use somehow, but I'm not sure what I want done with it. Its one of the ones with the pearls all the way across the top. Some ideas I have had are:

1) Make it the pin of the Recording Secretary - thats my office right now, as a colony member and I could pass it down through recording secretaries from now on.

2) Do a sister of the month kind of thing, and rotate it through all members

3) Have some sort of oustanding achievement for SOMETHING and donate it to that (not academics, we already have a rewards program for that)

I really dont know how I want to present it to the chapter. My boss gave it to me, so I want a say in how it is passed around, but I want a few ideas to present to the chapter to ask how they think it would best be used. Does anybody have any ideas? Thanks.

Does your nationals require that NM's buy a pin for initiation? If they don't you may want to donate the pin to the chapter and say that the pin will go to an NM who embodies the ideals of Alpha Xi Delta but for financial reasons can't afford to buy her own pin.

We have a pin like that in our chapter. We recieved it from one of our Alum. The pin is from the Alpha Chapter and we use it as a Presidents pin. I think if you received it and your position is Recording Sec. it would be nice to keep it as a Recording Sec. Pin.

I've donated 2 quills to be used as president's pins. One to Theta Omega at NMSU and one to Iota Eta (UTEP).

I think that donating it for recording secretary is a great idea. Another idea is to let the outstanding new member for each term use it.
