I am a very quiet person, researved, beleive it or not.
Used to get stage fright with speaking with more people than 3 sitting across a table having a few. Stated to stutter if tried to talk in front of people.
Started a Local, I had to be someone for the new people to look up to. Taught me a lot.
Was invited to be a Guest Speaker at another Chapter, scared to death. Few Scotches and just grabbed the Mic and said HI, I am Tom Earp and I am A LX!
Dont remember anything after that, in a grand funk but got an ovation!
Oh, being a Police Officer did help later in life!
I own a Business as small as it is, I deal with people everyday all day. Gives you an idea doesnt it.
I have found one thing, when you are in a GLO, it helps you overcome many problems, You have to! You become a doer rather than a follower and do nothing!
Question? Are each of you a doer or a follower? When you Graduate, will you be the same? If you are a doer, you will be a good Alum, if not you will fall by the way side or once down the road get a second wind and be who you can be!
This actually is not to far from the Real World. That is what being a GLO prepares you for, the real world!
