Fourth Law Of Power

Law Four - ALWAYS SAY LESS THAN NECESSARY

When you are trying to impress people with words, the more you say, the more common you appear, and the less in control. Even if you're saying something banal, it will seem original if you make it vague, open-ended, and sphinxlike. Powerful people impress and intimidate by saying less. The more you say, the more likely you are to say something foolish.

This one can work against you if people don't know you well or haven't gained their respect yet. When you don't allow people to "read" you, people will make assumptions, and usually bad assumptions.

I'm not sure how you draw that conclusion.

People's assumptions are their pre-conceived notions.

When trying to assume a role of power one does not need others to comprehend just comply.

When trying to assume a role of power you want people to fall back on their assumptions, this only makes you more powerful.

While they are dealing with you from the box that they create you can live in your own reality.

Go back to Law Three.

But let me ask you this have you graduated and/or worked in the Corporate Sector yet?

No.

I was just saying that sometimes silence can stir up suspicion. Also, vague and open-ended statements can bring in unwanted interpretations.

I see.

Most of the laws that I will be posting apply more to the corporate world rather than interpersonal relationships or customer service oriented employment.

Those strategies are a little different than these that I will be posting.
