Cool some of our sisterhood activities

Most recently we had a pancake dinner at my house. I and two other sisters happen to share a house, so everyone came over at the time of our regular meeting. It was inexpensive, easy and everyone had a lot of fun. We also went camping a few weeks ago. This is a great way for sisters to bond. In the past we have also had movie night.

Other ideas

Katie has already shared what our chapter does. Here are some ideas I heard from a friend of mine. She is not a member of SA but theses are activities she has either done at her chapter or has heard of...

- Scrapbook nights
- Other crafty themed nights included making: friendship
bracelets, candles, memory boxes, pumpkin carving, stain glass
window hangings (they had someone do a demo for them)

- Chapter lunches, either a picnic or out somewhere, everyone
wears their letters
- Chapter walks or exercise night
- Spa night at a sister's apt or house (nails, facials, hair, ect)

- Movie making night: one sister has a DVD camcorder & they
make mini movies to have as keepsakes

A little something different:
- A tea social & mock formal dinner in which a "manners coach" is
asked to come a speak. The idea behind this... some jobs
the girls got after college required going to formal dinners.
However some really didnt have any experience w/ formal
dinners & wished they had some guidelines on how to act &
so on

Not really an activity but...
- Have a "chapter stuffed animal" - If some one is sick, has a big test, or other wise needs a little cheering up... the chapter or an individual nominates a sister to have the stuffed animal for a week. Just another way of showing your sisters you care...

Sorry this is so long... I tend to ramble on

I think a good 'ol session of apple crisp and trashy TV is always the best (and I miss them SO much!) Food and Desperate Housewives or Sex and the City re-runs would be fun! Also you can do it any day of the week

Have you guys cooked AGR of FH dinner lately. I would so come back to help out

I like the exercise night, you could book one of the activity room at IM East (theres lots of parking on E campus by Akers/Holmes)

I always thought belly dancing lessons would be fun

Scavenger hunts are always fun and you might get a keepsake or two *lol*

I think an ice skating trip would be fun, there are rinks in Okemos and Haslette or you could check Munn's open skate.

What about cooking dinner/volunteering at Ellie's Place on Saginaw or the Ronald McDonald house on Michigan? This way girls could log some philanthropy hours as well.

I think a fun game show night would be fun, play Monte Hall on lets make a deal and see who has random stuff in their purse/backpack etc. Or price is right and have mock games set up and pick contestants out of a bowl and have real items (of course ag based like a bag of feed, saddle soap, tractors, fertalizer) that they need to price without going over to get out of "contestants row" and have prizes that they play the games for.

Of course Turkey Day dinner for a meeting close to Thanksgiving

Finals week you could have a mid week craft activity to take a study break from.

Group trip to see a show at Wharton

Trip to science museum on Michigan Ave

Just a few ideas for my fav sod farmer DD and my fav chapter!
