Can't you COB up to total if you are under total? (not that I really know the rules...)

OHHH... Gotcha. I guess I just assumed a chapter with the biggest pledge class was having no problems reaching total.

Kappas had around 23 people returning for the fall while all the other chapter were at around 35+ going into rush. UCR's house total is at 70...so thats why they are still COBing.

I saw on deltagamma.org that UC Riverside is going through a Fraternity Assisted COB. Any news on how that is going and why they are having one???

FACOB
They received assistance from the Fraternity because they have worked so hard and done so well these past couple of years. This was an extra boost in the arm for them. They pledged 22 out of 23 in fall formal recruitment and with this successful COB they will be maybe five from Total, which they will hit this semester. The numbers on the campus have been way down for a couple of years. These are really sisters to be proud of!!!!

Awesome for them! I just wondered since I did notice that they were only one away from quota and it seemed as if they did really well during recruitment. What is total at UC Riverside?
FACOBs are very helpful! I'm sure they'll be at total indefinately! We had one in 2001 and we've been doing great ever since!

FACOB went really well...they brought so much stuff to hand out...frisbees, pens, bags, shirts!!! We sponsored a Nooner event on campus, a band called Melee performed (my grand big used to date the lead singer hehe)
Anyway, from FACOB we had like 20 girls come out and we handed out 8 bids and all were accpeted. Tonight was the last COB for the quarter, just to fill some of the last spots (like 5 or 6) to reach total, which is 70.
So as of now, we have 29 NMs.

Colorado College
Beta Delta chapter at Colorado College
Quota: 18
Our new member class: 18
Other sororities new member classes: 18 (KKG) and 15 (KAT)
Our house total including new members: 62
Panhellenic house total: 60
Being above house total: priceless.
I've been grinning for three straight hours and it just won't stop. Out of our 18 new members, we got 14 off our top bid list and all of our new members put DG as their first choice on their bid card!
For the first time in more than 8 years, we CAN'T COB!!!

Hey Guys -
I love that we are letting everyone know how great we are doing in recruitment this year. We are probably having one of the best years on record overall. We have more new members and more legacies than in the past - Great job to you all! Let everyone know that DG is the best...however....
Please, Please, Please - let's not give out private Delta Gamma buisness on a forum like this or any other. Anything that you might hear in the chapter - should stay within the chapter. You know the new song - "What happens in Mexico, stays in Mexico" (I love Toby Keith) This applies for us too. Private info includes any release information, numbers, problems, etc.
There are lots of crashers on these things - and even your other DG sisters don't need to know every detail of what's going on.
So keep sharing the good news - just not all of it!!!!

ADDG,
That is great advice, but it is not always up to us. There are many other (nonDG) people on this board who find out this information and post it! It is often just repeated here so that any DG's who missed it know what others are talking about. Fortunately, there are people who are in the know, but do not share too!
Welcome to GC!

You are right - there are lots of people with lots of info (right and wrong). The point is - you just can't trust these things! But it's great entertainment!

I think, as a general rule, all of us start to trust each other a bit too much on this forum.. I know I'm very guilty of it at times. I mean, yes I'm a Delta Gamma, but there's no proof that I didn't one day just come up with the name "CarolinaDG" to dig dirt out about that particular sorority. Technically, it would be just as easy for me to use the name "CarolinaZTA" and go on their boards. Yes, please keep making us aware of this, but also please do not judge those who lose track of where they are. Sometimes it's just innocent curiousity. :-)
