Mount St. Helens close to erupting again?
VANCOUVER, Wash. - Scientists raised the volcanic activity level at Mount St. Helens to a level two 'Volcanic Advisory' Wednesday afternoon. Earlier in the week the mountain was at a level one 'Notice of Volcanic Unrest'
They say earthquakes are "ramping up," which is increasing the likelihood of an eruption.
Scientists expect an eruption would be limited to within three miles of the volcano.

I remember the last time it erupted...although I live in Southern CA, the ask travelled down this way...it left so much devestation...hopefully, if it does erupt it won't be to the same magnitude!

I visited the site once. The power with which it erupted was just magnificent. I remember my cousin was having real problems with his asthma around that time.

Geez...hurricanes on the East Coast...Earthquakes on the west coast...Tornadoes in the Midwest....is there a state that doesn't have any of these tragedies??

I am beginning to believe that the earthquakes recently in CA are a direct result of the recent volcano activity...too much happening at the same time....

I don't totally remember it as I was only 2, but the ash traveled all the way up here as well. It made for an interesting 2nd birthday party.
Apparently it's not supposed to be as bad as the eruption in 1980.

Could we start sending these natural disasters to other places? It'd be great if we could just send some nasty hurricanes and earthquakes to North Korea. That little Kim Jong Ill fella wouldn't be able to go tanning anymore.

i believe that too. they are all tied in together..... than you got to add all these hurricanes as well

well, there was a connection of earthquakes in Alaska causing Yellowstone's geysers to become more active... so CA's earthquakes and Mt. St. Helens could be connected

It wouldn't surprise me...especially since there's already scientific proof that the Pacific plate is littered with faultlines through the Pacific Rim..

And a 2 mile asteroid was a few hundred miles away from Earth yesterday...

The Earthquakes in Parkfield, CA are unrelated to the seismic activity and impending eruption of Mt. St. Helens... At least that is what KOMO 4 news said in Seattle, WA...

Um, no. One thing left out was that this was the coldest summer on record in the US in a hundred years.
Hurricanes are cyclical too. I grew up here in FL and this is extremely unusual. Hasn't happened in a couple of decades.
Earthquakes and global warming - huh?
Mt. St. Helens blew up in 80 and I was living in SoCal then too. Almost 25 years ago, and they said then it would blow again.
Besides, that international arbiter of election honesty, Jimmy Carter, was President. Global warming only happens when the R's are in office, right? Pfft.

That is also a sign of global warming - most of Canada had a cool, wet summer, while BC had a hot dry summer - that just isn;t normal.
You are right though, earthquakes have nothing to do with global warming - global warming affects temperature, not tectonics.
Seismic activity happens all the time, we just don't tend to feel it. There's a quake pretty much everyday in BC, but it is so small you can't feel it.
