Waiting and Wishing...

Rush at my school is second semester and you need 12 hours from the previous semester to be able to participate in rush...Well, i got really sick and had to withdraw my first semester at college. Obviously I did not have 12 hours and was not able to rush my freshman year. Now, as a Sophomore, I have gotten to know the girls and the houses and know that being a Tri-Delta is what I want more than anything in the world. I have a bunch of friends that are Tri-Deltas, but I am just worried about the fact that I am a Sophomore. Tri-Deltas here normally take 1-3 Sophomores. I really don't know what to do. There is no alternative for me. It is either Tri-Delta or not go greek. It is the house I feel most comfortable in and the people I feel most comfortable with. I am doing crazy here, studying like no other to raise my GPA to something higher than what it is ( a 3.1), attend all events where I can meet and socialize with more Tri-Delts, and get involved on campus so I have an amazing resume. I am just so worried that in the end I will have worked so hard and things might not work out. Any advice?

It sounds like rush is pretty competitive at your school. Do you really feel that strongly about this one particular house? My suggestion is to keep your options open. I am sure that the other orgs have some pretty wonderful women in them as well. It just sounds like you are limiting your options and setting yourself up for a huge let-down. Who is to say you cannot be friends still with the Tri-Delta girls?

Yes, rush is VERY competitive at my school. I know I should open myself to other options, but it is just so hard to do once my mind is so deeply set on something. Advice noted though...I am going to try to open myself up to the possibilities of other houses and try and meet more girls that are not Tri-Deltas, just in case. Thanks!
