Bethesda Restaurant Advice
I have a friend that is trying to schedule a cocktail dinner for a financial company in the Bethesda area. Any suggestions on restaurants? Needs to be nice but not to expensive and also needs to be able to hold 50ish people.
Thanks

Bethesda, MARYLAND?
really not trying to be a smart ass, but is there even such a thing a nice AND inexpensive restaurant in Bethesda. I would try a chain. Maybe Clyde's of Chevy Chase on Wisconsin.

Clyde's in southern Rockville is nice and pretty big. I've heard La Ferme in Chevy Chase is, although I've never been there myself. Black's in downtown Bethesda is good, but may be a little small. I've also heard good things about Mon Ami Gabi in downtown Bethesda but haven't been there either.

You beat me on the Clyde's! That one is closed for reservations though, the whole shopping center is being redone. The other ones in the area are open though.

I worked at the Clyde's in Rockville (Tower Oaks) for 4 months after I graduated, while looking for a job. To be perfectly honest, the restuarant is beautiful, the service sucks. Washingtonian consistently ranks Clyde's as the top three worst service in the area. The people that frequent suck too, because they are for the most part Rockville but think they are Potomac. No one should all prententious on me with a obvious knock-off Louis, and a coupon for dinner. (Please don't get me wrong I am not a total snob, but people like to go into Tower Oaks acting WELL ABOVE their income bracket. No matter how much money you have you should NEVER treat staff likes servants. /soapbox rant)
Mon Ami Gabi is fabulous, but is an open seating restaurant, as far as the one dining room is just open. You would have to take the whole place for a party that size as the whole place isn't very large, and can't be put into a separate room.
