deleted posts?
I have a question regarding posts on this board. A post I made earlier in the week, which was a direct response to another, has been deleted. Since the OTHER post was deleted too so the point is now moot, I don't care at all that mine is gone...
other than to wonder what the standard protocol or policy is? Is there a place for board regulations where I might check out the policies so I can avoid this in the future?
(also, just for the record, my post did not include any obscenities, slurs, ritual info, etc. -- all the things for which one might expect a delete)

to clarify - I explained that at the end for the benefit of the other posters here, and not as argument... I just don't want anyone here to think I was posting really bad stuff!

sorry for all the posts!!!!
but, I also wanted to say that I looked for an address at which to e-mail the moderators directly with my question, but couldn't find one. I have e-mailed the webteam@greekchat.com address several times on a totally separate issue over the last couple of months and not received a response, so I assumed it was a default e-mail that wasn't regularly checked.

Hi Texas Alum,
All email sent to webteam@greekchat.com is checked daily, with typical response times being anywhere between a few minutes & several days (depending on the current workload, etc).
I recall getting previous emails from you & believe to have responded, although it's possible that some emails were lost somehow (either accidentally deleted, moved or just overlooked). We receive a high number of emails & I'm sure there are some that probably slip through the cracks. Please resend any emails which you have not gotten a response to in more than a week or so.
You can find the message board rules at http://www.greekchat.com/rules.htm
Let me know if you have any other questions, comments or suggestions.

If your emails are concerning smaller issues, I suggest emailing or PMing a Moderator.
If they are bigger issues, I suggest PMing the great John (that is his GC user name).

Tesas Alum, although I'm not familiar withyour post that was deleted, I have a possible idea as to why that happened. If the person who started a thread decides to delete his or her first post on the thread, then the rest of the thread will be deleted as well. Could this be what happened to you? Just an idea.

The original post was in 2000....I think someone was trying to get an update of how to ask questions/report a complaint.

Thanks, I did (it was a John kinda issue) ... but to no avail. I'll try it again, now.

I have my suspicions that John is really a 14-year old computer guru who often does not respond quickly because he is in ISS for being on the computer in class AGAIN!!
Just a little humor, folks!
Anyway, you can also email or PM Amycat -- she is the co-mod for GL, and she is VERY good about quick replies and solving problems. Unfortunately John doesn't get paid for this, and prolly is up to his eyeballs at work most of the time!! He will reply though it does sometimes take longer than expected.
You can also PM any moderator and ask them to bring a complaint/problem/whatever to the mod forum for discussion.
