2004 Summer Olympics
I probably won't watch much, but kudos to:
First African American male qualifies for U.S. Olympic rowing
WEST WINDSOR, N.J. - In teaming with U.S. Navy officer Henry Gantt Nuzum, Aquil Hashim Abdullah became the first African American male rower to qualify for the U.S. Olympic team at the Qualified Olympic Small Boat Trials on Lake Mercer Wednesday.
Their victory in men's double sculls team highlighted a morning in which all four races produced Olympic qualifiers, completing the small boat roster for the U.S team.
Artour Samsonov and Luke Walton won the men's pair in 6:37.15. Kate MacKenzie and Sarah Jones won the women's pair in 7:13.33, marking the second straight race in which they edged Liane Malcos and Portia Johnson by less than one second, and Stacey Borgman and Lisa Schlenker won the lightweight women's double sculls in 7:02.43. Nuzum and Abdullah won in 6:23.59.

I love to watch the Summer Olympics. I like the track and field events, tennis, swimming, volleyball, diving, and sometimes rowing and archery. I fell off the basketball bandwagon a few years ago. It was starting to be a clown show. Imagine a team with Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, David Robinson, et al. all on ONE team. They were damn near two feet taller than the other teams. They were slaughtering people by like 198-15. It was a shame.

I will be glued to the Track and Field events...I used to run back in High School (Two-Time State Champion I might add ) and I still get a rush like I'm running the race...Be on the lookout for Allyson Felix in the 200m...That girl is something fierce..and only 18 On the men's side...Maurice Green, Shawn Crawford, and Justin Gatlin (He's a lil cutie )

My former teacher (an my mother's former colleague)'s son is competing in the Swimming competition. I remember when he was just a toddler. I guess I'm getting old, huh?
There is this all out campgain to get his family to Greece for the Olympics.
