Talking Piercing Care :o)

The topic was getting too long!!

Okay, from what I know from my piercer... (hes awesome!!!) and my friend (has EVERYTHING pierced...) and my expierences:

Make sure you find a clean place!!! Listen to other people who have gone there! Make syre they pierce with Surgical steel, Naiobium or Titanium.
Rings are eaiser to clean than curved barbells when you get them for the first time.

Cleaning- Listen to what the piercer says, he is a professional! Dont go by what a friend says.

They should tell you to use:
Dial Soap (or any antibactirial... if you're sensitve to things, get unscented)
Water

extras:
Bactine
Triple antibiotic
Tea Tree Oil

Doctors will say to use:
Peroxide every once and a while
Take Ibuprophen!
(The tissue behind my piercing was inflamed, so they told me that!)

Try to avoid: BENODINE & BETADINE they are really strong and expensive- I had a bad bad bad reaction to them (if your ears are sensitive to thigns, most likely other parts of your body will be!) if you HAVE to use them, DILUTE it! I wasted 13 bucks on a bottle I cant use now!

I dont know about the ear care things... theyre for ears, not really for belly buttons, nipples, etc...

If they say clean it 4x a day for 4 weeks, clean it 4x a day for 4 weeks

Enjoy the piercing! Yay!

My funny story:
I got mine done and asked if I would be able to dance with it just being pierced. And he said- As long as you arent dragging your belly across the floor.... well wouldnt you know I go to class and we started modern! (and dragged our self across the floor!)

This is the end I promise!
I had to take my ring out a month or so ago... I had a bad infection, as a result of benodine and a reacton to the metal (I had the ring for about 3 months, infecrtion for 2 weeks at the end) my doc gave me keflex- really strong antubiotic- and when it only cleared up a bit, then got bad again, I knew it was time to take it out. So I did, it still looks bad at times, but my piercer said he would pierce me with titanuim next time... Im going in November!!!

Love to all the Chi Omegas!

Talking

I'm pleased to report my naval piercing is doing much better. I'm even more excited to get it changed in December because of the cute lady bug ring I found. YEAH.
