I want to rush again!
Has anyone else ever wanted to go through rush again, knowing what you know now? I wouldn't want to end up in a different sorority, of course, though if I did, I know I could be happy in any NPC group, but I mean, I want to go through with more strategy.
I guess it's kind of like those posts that talk about rush in the south where they do prepare more and get consultants and stuff. But, when i went through rush, I was clueless. I knew enough to dress nice and be well-groomed, but mostly because I wanted to, not to impress the girls. in fact, I don't remember ever considering getting turned down, especially by the house I really wanted. i didn't even think about the members discussing me. I don't know why, I guess I was just an especially clueless rushee. Anyway, I want to do it again, so I can see how it looks to rushees and really think about what is impressive and what isn't. I feel like totally blank about those times and that's kind of a hindrance when you are on the other side trying to figure out how to but your best foot forward with the rushees that are coming.
Anyone else like to do it again? or have some other part of sorority life they would like to do again (like initiation, I wish I could remember more of my own. I know the ritual backwards and forward, but I forget a lot of what I was feeling at specific moments of my own initiation)?
Oh, and please excuse my lack of new NPC terminology in the first paragraph! It take too long to type the other words!

I am SO glad I went through RUSH
Seriously! I wasn't going to but I decided at the last minute to do so. I looked through the booklet that my school offers about the sororities there and I saw pictures of the Chi-O girls and wanted to be one right away!
I would have loved to re-live RUSH and remember all the feelings I had about it. It was just an exciting and new time! And the fourth night...awe man. I'd LOVE to re-live that one over! The room was so beautiful and all the women were so pretty and just so nice as can be! I felt the sisterhood and even though we still have the sisterhood...I miss the way it felt as an outsider (plus I miss some of the alums)!

I went through rush with my roommate two years ago. It's kind of a cool story. I live in an apt complex that pairs you up with random college kids. My roomie and I didn't know each other at all. We called each other over summer just to say hi and found that we both planned on rushing. Well, every day, we would meet up and tell each other our "favorite" house of the day. Since we weren't that close of friends at the time (we met the day before rush started) we didn't even think of getting into the same sorority. Well, on the last day of rush, she told me that she wanted to go Chi O. So, in the end we became not only roomies, but sisters!! Now she's my best friend!
As for living rush over, I would do it. Just because I know so much about rush and the behind the scenes aspect of it. I was so clueless! I would definetly love to do pref night again .
We had a wishing well too!! I remember hearing Shades for the first time that night and getting chills. I also remember how one of the girls who rushed me, brought a copy of the Symphony over to me to read. She told me her favorite line was, "To be womanly always, to be discouraged never." I thought it was beautiful and it became my favorite line ever since! I remember feeling such a strong sisterhood every time I visited the Chi Omegas, and I knew I wanted to be a part of it...and the next day, I was!

We never had a wishing well. (I went to Sigma Kappa pref night and they had a fountain and we dropped something in there I think.) So what did you all use it for?
What I loved about pref night was that we had little cakes with our names on them! But I definatly wish I could go through Rush again, it was SOOO much fun! I also wish I could run out the doors again. (At my school, UT Chattanooga, you get your bid while you are in the chapel and then run out the doors to the sorority you got the bid from. Sometimes it ends up looking like a tackle!) It's wild!

I went thru informal rush and I always wondered what I would've been like/felt/etc in formal rush.
I didn't know enough about sorority life freshman year to rush formal--but of course as soon as I got to school I wanted to and it was too late.
For informal, I did target houses I already knew and I would not want to change my choice--but I just wonder, you know...?
Kind of the What If I had... game--how would life be different if we had turned left instead of right sort of thinking.

I totally know what you mean! I rushed informally, and even though I still would have gone Chi O I wish I would have seen all the houses, and what they do. Everyone seems to have such great memories of formal rush, It would be nice to go through it once

Our Pref night was at an alums house who had an actual well in the back yard! She had candles all around it - it was beautiful. Heather, after Shades, each rushee would make a wish and throw their white carnation into the well. Glad to say ...my wish came true!
