people search database sites
What do you guys think about those people search sites? I think they are the worst thing ever because some one can purchase information about you without you your knowledge. They can get you home address, phone number, when you were born, background checks, etc.
I think these sites are an invasion of privacy. I do not have anything to hide I just don't want some crazy person going on-line finding information about me.

I don't care what they know. I just want a cut.

Well since we have no right to privacy then why not invade it is probably their theory.
what scares me is the fact that these sites can find this stuff out in the first place. I mean some of it is public records, birth date, address , etc. But your background check such as criminal record and what not should be closed to people without your permission or a court order, or so you'd think.
But I guess since we have no constitutional right to privacy it's all made public.

This information has always been available. Now it's just more conveniently on the internet. But it's nothing new

Kinda, there are also sites where if you wanted to you could see someone elses Social Number, credit record, or even background check(criminal record) if you wanted. For a price of course. You don't have to prove that it's for employment or that you have a waiver stating that you can access that information.

One site that a friend had told me about (I can't remember the name) had me in its database, but the information (age, city, state) was 10 or 11 years old. I wonder if all the sites are so inaccurate?
