I'm sorry ya'll, but my first thought (as a mother of 3 boys ranging from almost 8 to almost 14) was "brilliant, absolutely freaking brilliant!" Of course, being the internet, the story could be a complete fabrication so the seller could get more for the PS2 on the auction

If it's true, then selling the PS2 hopefully is the least of the punishment AND the parents start keeping a little closer eye on their teenager.

Thats so funny. I need to tell my parents about this so when my 15 yr old bro is an ass as he sometimes is, they can sell his prized dirt bike on ebay...

HA HA hed kill me if I suggested that. I wouldnt cause I love him lol, but that was a good one if it was true. 120 bottle of wine and he drank it, man Id whip him even if he is 13.

This is another topic but I think if you were a kid and got spanked and your parents got spanked and everyone turned out fine, I dont see why its now child abuse. I dont have kids, but when I do, if they get out of control I will spank their butt. Spanking is not bad its not like you are beating them over and over and over and realyl abusing them. A lot of kids need to learn respect anymore. Man when Im in the grocery store or the mall I hear some rude things come out of kids to their parents. I just think man if I had said that to my mom Id be running cause she wouldnt have taken that.

I'll have to remember those creative ways of punishment when I have children. I was never allowed a tv, phone, or computer in my room, so when I was grounded..I was sent to my room and basically just sat on my ass for a few days unless I was lucky enough to have school in session and not be on summer break!

It was brilliant. *haha* I'll have to tell my sister about that since she has 2 teenaged boys...

My mama was good at punishment! She'd sit me down and say, "What would you do if you had a little girl who just did that?" Meanwhile, I'd be thinking that I'd smack the snot out of them!

Let's hear it for parents who DO punish their children, and make them see consequences!!

I think that spanking works for little kids, when contained to the part of the anatomy that the good Lord designed for punishing! You can't reason with a 1-year-old, and often, that's the only way to get their attention. I had a sister-out-law whose little girl was just beautiful, but on the way to becoming a serial killer - and all she'd ever do was say, "No, no, no!" to her! The kid stabbed at me!

OH man. Id smack her butt for trying to stab at you.

I agree a smack on the old buttocks is just fine. When I have kids they are surely gonna get it if I hear talking back or not listening. I would never abuse them or smack them elsewhere but kids do need to learn respect and they need to learn the parents are in charge and they need to listen.

I have a cousin who is a teenager and she is the run of the house. She calls her mom a bitch and tells her mom to f off and all sorts of things. Now she isnt some juvenile deliquent or anything she just has a VERY bad mouth. I feel bad for my aunt cause her son is a teen too and he also had a mouth, not as bad as his sister, but he tries to beat his sister up a lot. The thing is, I blame my aunt. She never discliplined them and when they say these mean and hurtful things to her she ignores them or laughs it off. She doesnt even say quit or anything. She lets them get away with murder and laughs about it. Now they are scared ot death of my uncle cause he will smack them or punish them if they are rude or moug off, but he works 10 hours a day so he isnt around like my aunt who doesnt work so she deals with the brats all day long.

Not me Ill spank their butts a good one if they called me a bitch.

This is great. Kids have so much stuff now that taking away their material goods is probably the best form of punishment.

hahahahahaha that's awesome. Then again, I think she was probably pretty stupid to buy him a play station in the first place...these things are making kids fat and stunting their social skills.

I hope that kid learns his lesson from this experience! If he misbehaves, the parents can and will take his prized possessions and sell them on Ebay. What strikes me is that he downed an entire bottle of Dom Perrignon!!!! That stuff is very expensive and his parents received it as gift that they were planning to drink on a special occasion. Also, I noticed that the estimated damage was $177, but the winning bid for the Play Station was $122.50. I wonder if the kid is going to pay the rest of the amount by doing chores.

If and when I have kids, I would likely do the same thing (not really sell their things on Ebay, but donate their stuff to charity) if they act up or not listen to me. However, I will spank as a last resort.
