NYC Still Safest Big City in America
The capital of the World, and the only real city on the continent, is even safer than last year. We are still #10 out of the 10 biggest cities in America. Last year we were #203 out of 230. This year we improved to #211.

And, Atlanta's been lying all this time - though I KNEW it!! The ATL is a huge crime center and I was often a victim (and occasionally a perpetrator in my earliest days.)
ETA: BTW, I'm VERY glad to hear about NY since I'll be moving up there soon!!!

Come on, Russ.
It's a great city -- maybe the greatest -- at least in my opinion, but let's not get carried away here.
There are a number of great cities here for a lot of different reasons.

Please don't rub it in. I never thought that I would see the day when the Nets were better than the Knicks.

I live in VA. WE HAVE NO SPORTS TEAMS. Were forced to leech off DCs, and in some cases, Baltimore.

I believe it.
Every time I've gone there, I've felt very safe walking around at night. Certainly safer than I did at school.

Daym, and I moved to Atlanta from IOWA.
Quite a change, actually. I am fortunate that I live in Buckhead, though.

Buckhead probably has a higher crime rate than NYC as well.
