Jamaica 2004 Pics

I saw someone else post some Spring Break pics, so I figured I'd share mine....

http://bengal.missouri.edu/~mgm4g5/jamaica/

We left from Columbia, MO to St. Louis... Stayed overnight at a hotel then had to hop the 6am flight to Negril, Jamaica...

We stayed 7 days, though most of the pics posted are probably just about a days worth.. Didn't feel comfortable carrying my digicam around.

Anyway, Jamaica was a blast!

(By the way, I'm the guy in most of the pics... Not the guy in the first few pics, that's Kevin.)

Where did you stay there? When I went to Jamaica we stayed at the Renassaince Jamaica Grande in Ocho Rios. DAMN it was beautiful! Jamaica is gorgeous and I seriously suggest it to anyone and everyone.

Did you do Dunn's River?

We stayed at Negril Gardens in negril... It is owned by Sandals, but is more of a spring break resort (atleast during spring break).

It was pretty nice... I've got some pics of it on my album. Only thing I didn't like was that the guards wouldn't let any non-member come back to the rooms with you.. I was able to sneak a few in, but it was damn tough..

I didn't do dunn's river because of lack of funds and for the fact that we got a gun pulled on us in a cab the 2nd day we were there...

We spent most of our money on party passes, jet skiing, banana boating, tips, etc... Resort was All-Inclusive so we didnt have to spend a cent (except for the occasional tip) on food or drinks. They weren't jerks about the free drinks either, more often than not I'd get 3-4 Pina Coladas or Miami Vice's at once for myself then head back up for more.. Our Bar tenders were AWESOME.

I'd definately go back to Negril Gardens... 99% chance I will next year.

Haha, I saw these pics before.

I know all of you girls are jealous that he's going to MY school in the fall. Too bad I'll be an old senior and he'll only be a little freshman.

Did you have your bar and club in the resort? I know we were heavily warned about leaving the resort at nite. We had one club and a bunch of bars and it was still super fun!

And the gun? We need a story!

Sidenote: There's a TKE at my school and his name is Matt Sikes and we call him Sikes... everytime I see your name it reminds me of him!

Great times... Lots of girls. I expected it to be mostly guys (like on my resort) but once you got to the parties, it was wild.

Also --- our resort had one bar but the good bartenders made it worth it... We didn't have a club on our resort, but they were all around us...

The story with the gun...

Well we warned about leaving the resort... But the thing about Negril is that it is a 7-mile beach. Almost all of the clubs and party-spots are within drunk walking distance so usually as far as we went was down the beach. (Tamboo, Risky business, margaritaville, Legends, The Jungle, etc)

But on like the second day, we wanted to go to this huge party on the cliffs... We went, and it was amazing. BEAUTIFUL property... All I can say is wow.

We decided to leave pretty early though, to go to another party... Our resort's taxi wasn't around so Kevin decides to get the cheapest taxi possible.. Most were asking $8 for both of us, he got one for $3. (Theres a red flag right there)

Anyway... Halfway back, the driver pulls over and sticks a gun in our faces, telling us "Give me the money mon'!"

And I'm all "uhhhh what the f*ck?!"

Kevin about peed his pants.. I was too gone to realize the severity of the situation...

LUCKILY, we were also riding with this HUGE Kansas State football guy, who we befriended despite where he was from...

The guy looks this Jamaican straight in the eye and tells him to "take the money we agreed on, and get that f*cking gun out of my face before I Kick your ass!!"

Believe it or not, the Jamaican said "Ok mon'" and did just that.

We were a little shaken up, but that didn't stop us from heading to the jungle to party... All in all, quite an eventful night... Only in Jamaica mon'!
