How I Love Those Alpha Gams...
How I love those Alpha Gams so deep deep so down down in my heart! Woo!
The University of Idaho, Delta Theta Chapter had their celebration the first weekend of April. It was a great time and very enjoyable to see alum sisters and meet the undergraduates currently living in the house.
Enjoy yourselves!! Happy 100th Alpha Gamma Delta--long may you live!

IRD!
I just got back from IRD! We ate at our local country club and gave out awards to some of our alum and collegians! I had a great time meeting sisters older than me---we even had one of our charter members there (We were founded in 1948)! Anyways, I hope all of you had just as much fun as I did!
LiEP,
Jess

Our IRD was great too! I got an "Alpha Gam" necklace at the silent auction (There was also an absolutely adorable Skiouros necklace too, but I was outbid by another sister). While the dress code was supposed to be business casual, a woman actually came in red, buff and green (consisting of a lettered shirt in colours and black pants)

The Hawaii Alumnae/Delta Sigma Chapter held our IRD today at the beautiful Ko`olau Golf Club. Scenic views of the mountains and Kane`ohe Bay were just breathtaking. There was even an indoor waterfall that made for a perfect background for the AGD paparazzi!
Our guest speaker today was Pam McCullough, an FBI specialist and 1999 Convention Distinguished Citizen award recipient. She shared with us events of her illustrious career as well as memories of her years at the Gamma Beta chapter and the Old Dominion Alumnae Chapter. Penny, if you're reading this...she spoke fondly of you and referred to you as her "anchor".
See pictures of IRD 2004 here!

Our IRD was Alabama statewide IRD. The guest speaker was Kay Ivey, who is Alabama State Treasurer. She was initated at Gamma Delta Chapter which is Auburn University. I sat with some really interesting sisters there who I had not met before. They made lunch conversation exciting!
Also, I meant to add the weather was beautiful!!! A clear sunny day in the mid 80's. Which was great because the dinner club where IRD was held was on top of a mountain over looking the city of Birmingham. Great view!!!!

the adventure
we had quite an adventure geting to ird yesterday...
while we were driving down the pike, we got a flat tire. heather was going to try to put the donut on herself but was nervous that the lugnuts would be too tight and she coudlnt' get it off. we called one of the girls there who was going to drive the half hour to pick us up fromt he side of the road while we had a tow truck come get the car. however, only certain tow truck companies are allowed on the mass pike since it's a private road. the names of the ones we got were not allowed. so we called the state police and they were going to send a trooper to put the donut on for us. we called and told cari she didn't need to come get us, we would just wait for the trooper. meanwhile, here's four girls in dresses and heals sitting on the side of the road and not one person asked if we needed help, but lots beeped and waved as they drove by. so this service man sent by the state police finally arrives. walks up and was like "so you got a flat?" heather was like i just wanted to be like no, we're hanging out here for fun. so he got the donut on and we drove the rest of the way to worcestor and dropped it off at speedy auto service, which was down the street from the hotel where IRD was at. so we ended up being about an hour late. it was quite a low-key lunch so we didn't even miss much!

I managed to make it to IRD, but since I was moving I set out my clothes for it a few days before because everything else had to be packed. I picked out a cute little sundress and open toed sandals, thinking, "Its April in Southern California." I FROZE.
IRD was great, though. Patti Floren gave a really inspiring speech. It was nice to see so many sisters there.
