Oh, OK. Well if it says good things about me then, "Yeah, I know him. He wrote a song about me." If not, then, "Neva heard of him."

I'll have to buy that CD!

Here are the lyrics. . .

Lyrics:

Verse I
Woke up this morning found a letter that she wrote
She said she's tired that I'm always on the road
To hard to swallow being alone
She needs someone at night that she can hold

She must have told me a thousand times before
Silent cries I use to ignore
God knows I love her
Didn't mean to hurt her

Chorus
Baby I'll be
Sitting here waiting on you to come home again
I won't leave
Promise I'll be here to the very end
By your side
To protect you and to love you and to be with you for life
Come on home to me Charlene

Verse II
She knows I really love this old music thang
Since I was a child it's been my dream
I can support her treat her and spoil her
You know buy her the finer things

But I forgot about loving her
Damn the money, diamonds and pearls
What about the hard day she had with the baby
All she need is for me to love her

Chorus
Baby I'll be
Sitting here waiting on you to come home again
I won't leave
Promise I'll be here to the very end
By your side
To protect you and to love you and be with you for life
Come on home to me Charlene

Bridge
Promise I can't live without her
God knows I need her loving
And it hurts so bad that's she gone
I pray that she'll come back one day
In my life

Chorus
Baby I'll be
Sitting here waiting on you to come home again
I won't leave
Promise I'll be here to the very end
By your side
To protect you and to love you and be with you for life
Come on home to me Charlene

Oh oh oh
Sometimes I cry
Charlene if you're listening would you call on me
Because my heart is aching

**very soulful singer who used to sing backup for DeAngelo.**

I've been thinking the same thing!

Ok, my name is Jennis - no it's not Jenny, Jennifer, Janice, Genesis...

Say the word "tennis" but put a "J" in front instead of a "T." It's a combination of "James" and "Dennis," my uncles...and yes I'm female.

People have serious problems pronouncing my name! LOL!

Thumbs up Thanks, CT4, for posting the song!!

I don't know how to quote very well, so this is re. the Anthony Hamilton song that I now know was DEFINITELY written for me.

My ex-husband is a singer/songwriter/musician! Talk about Deja Vu! Someone must have been listening through the walls about 6 years ago.

Sorry. End hi jack
Toocute,

Sorry for the hijack. but every once in a while, i tell someone my name and they break out in song. i missed the commercial, but i've learned the song just from hearing others sing it. and yes for a while, i got a bottle of that perfume for christmas or my birthday every single year. and personally i think it smells a bit musty. oh well... continue with our previously scheduled threat.

and steeltrap, thanks girl about the siggie. i got it from a NY Times article about him creating his own line of umbrellas. the piece was hilarEEEous.

I got a copy of that article. It was funny. I was picturing him talking as I was reading his quotes.
