Talking Heya all you KayDees!

Hey all you KD's! I just noticed our forum doesn't have a moderator! I say we post enough so it does! Get all your sisters to come chat with us!

My first question is:

Why did you join Kappa Delta in the first place? What made you feel most at home?

Second... I was wondering why there are so darn few of us here! Is KD a smaller Sorority? I thought there were about 160,000 of us nationwide!

Well, I don't know where to start. Kappa Delta is the best sorority there is...for so many reasons. It also helped that we are VERY strong in NC!

KD is one of the largest out there. We have 124 chapters and 482 alumnae associations. I assume we are not aware of the site...Ginger, tell some girls....I will work on my AA!

By the way, alot of KDs chat on KD online....look up our national website for more info!

Nice chatting with you!

hey Girls,
everything about pref was amazing I think that has alot to do with why I felt so at home with KD. The cermony was wonderful and you could really feel the love and sisterhood between the girls. What was even more amazing about that is another chapter-- wake forest helped our chapter with that rush and I still could feel a certain amount of sisterhood between these girls that had only know each other a few days.

Why did I join KD??
Every year, our Panhellenic Council has a 1st semester ice-cream social for transfer students and new freshman. (We have deferred recruitment) Being a transfer student, I was interested in getting to know the sororities on campus. I was sitting alone while my friends were partaking in the ice cream part of the social, and a group of Kappa Deltas came up to me. They were so friendly and eager to get to know me, I couldn't help but love those girls!
The Kappa Delta in my calculus class, who was later my big!, sought me out for help in the class. She took me up the house and introduced me to all of the sisters.
The day after sororities were given permission to give out open bids, I got a knock on my door! And the rest...is history!

How did they make me feel so at home?
When I accepted my open bid on the spot, I was showered with balloons, KD shirts, and lots of KD goodies. They took me up the house to celebrate. Each sister came up to me indivually and offered to let me spend the night in her room.
I was NEVER treated as if I wasn't a "true" sister just because I was a pledge. My opinion was always graciously accepted and listened to seriously.
I love all of my sisters! You girls are the best!!!
