two possible job interviews
Hey Ya'll!
I've applied for two jobs:
Democracy NC in Carrboro, NC for their NC Organizer Position. I will be contacted in 2 weeks for a possible interview
Campaign Manager for a democratic NC State Senate Candidate. I just sent in my resume and will be contacted for an interview in April. If I get it, I get to train for 3 days in DC and then start managing a state senate campaign somewhere in NC.
I will receive my BA in Political Science from UNCC in May. I am so excited!!! Please be thinking of me!

Adrienne,
I totally understand what you are going through right now. I'm also going to be a Poli Sci graduate (BA) in May 2004. I'm also looking for a job right now. I think that I have given everyone my resume and it's just not getting me anywhere! I wanted to work in the PA Legislature, but can't since Gov. Rendell slapped a hiring freeze over the state government. I'm questioning if I majored in the right thing. I'm hoping to get a job soon....I need the health benefits.

Go get a PT job at Starbucks while you look for a "real job" for now... even part timers get access to decent health insurance
The caffeinated fringe benefits aren't half bad either!

Best Wishes!!! The only way I ever used my degree in Political Science was the application of principles in the Business Arena. One of my favorite books in Peace Studies was Fisher's "Beyond Machiovelli". I use many of those principals on a daily basis.

Update:
I got an e-mail from the Emily's List rep informing me that they had filled the internship position within the Development Department. She felt like I was very qualified and assured me she would pass my name along to the other departments incase they were still looking for interns. My parents and I were a little miffed because we don't think she spoke to my references and that she e-mailed me late in the day on a Friday afternoon instead of called. But I guess that is the nature of the game.
I attended the Young Dems Convention of NC this weekend and made a few contacts so there's still a lot of hope.
Thanks to everyone for the encouragement and kind words!
