Yet another, but VERY IMPORTANT pizza thread...
I would like people to recommend specific pizza places in specific cities, that other GCers can visit if in town. I am not talking about just random good places, but FREAKING WONDERFUL pizza places... I have 3...
Lilly's Pizza - Raleigh, NC
Pepper's Pizza - Chapel Hill, NC
2Amy's - Washington DC
Any other's? Anyone been to these?

New York ALWAYS Has the Best Pizza
1. Totonno's pizzeria, in the Coney Island neighborhood of Brooklyn, is a place where we would get pizza, on occasion, when I was growing up. It has been there since 1924. Best pizza, and the absolute worst table service anywhere.
2. Patsy's on 1st Avenue, in East Harlem. This small Italian enclave has produced some of the most notorious mobsters in American history. The pizza at the original Patsy's, open since 1932, is the best of the Patsy's clones.
3. John's of Bleeker Street, open since 1929, is the best in Greenwich Village.

That usually means it will have great food... Bad service is great, as long as the food is good...

I haven't been there in a while, but they had the rudest waitress on the planet. An absolutely miserable woman who was very, very nasty. No one cared because the pizza was so good.
Totonno's made fresh sauce and dough every morning. They would often close early because they ran out of sauce and/or dough.

Calderone - Milwaukee, WI (either East side, or downtown)
I asked the doorman at our hotel where to get good pizza. He said, "Calderone," and "tell Gino and Larry(?) I sent you."
Any pizza place, with a guy named Gino, will have spectacular pizza.

Because I know you're all dying to visit Corn country:
Ames, IA: Great Plains Sauce & Dough, Co. This is the best pizza in a 60-mile radius. They make both white and wheat crusts and have honey on the tables to drizzle on it when you're done eating the pizza part. Yum!
Marion, Ia Zoey's Pizzeria. A dinky hole-in-the-wall. They have both Chicago and New York styles and it's Just Good Pizza
Cedar Rapids, Ia Tomaso's Pizza. Another good, mom and pop pizza place where everything is homemade.

A subject near and dear to my heart!
Grotto Pizza - Locations throughout Delaware. Yummy, chunky, spicy pizza sauce, not a ton of cheese, crispy crust. My favorite location is the one on the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk.
Riccetta's Brick Oven - South Portland, Maine. Crust is tender on the inside, crunchy on the outside. Tons of unusual toppings. Love the pizza buffet during the week.
Amato's - Etna, Pennsylvania (just north of Pittsburgh). I've loved this pizza since I was a kid and make sure I go there whenever I'm home. Square pieces, very light crust, mild sauce and little fluffs of mozzarella on top. I never get toppings; no need to mess with perfection.
Beto's - Somewhere in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. Super chunky sauce and they bake the pizza THEN sprinkle the cheese on just when it comes out of the oven.

Most people will tell you Lou Malnati's is the place to go in Chicago, but those who really know what they're talking about will tell you to go to Giordano's or Pizzeria Uno.

Papa's Pizza in Bolingbrook or Woodridge, IL. (suburbs of Chicago) My absolute favorite pizza.
Home Run Inn in Chicago is really good too.
Bloomington, IN: Mother Bear's, definitely.
Champaign, IL: Garcia's Pizza in a Pan. We used to have this in Bloomington too, and I miss it!

DONATO'S PIZZA!!
It is absolutely awesome! They have pizza, subs, and salads. Also, they just came out with the Low Carb Pizza (no crust)! Check out their website at www.donatos.com
They are located all over Ohio (originally founded in Columbus), in select cities in Alabama, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
