National Signing Day 2004

So, today being the first Wednesdy of February, its the first day college football recruits can sign with the colleges of their choice. I've got the A&M webpage up and i'm refreshing it every 5 minutes.

A&M's had a good recruiting season, especially when you consider the rough season we had. Most experts figure us to be a top 15 class. More importantly, we're bringing in several JUCO players to help us immediately on the defensive side of the ball, where we need help the most.

There has been a lot of rumors that we might steal the number one recruit in the nation, Adrian Peterson away from OU. He's been interested in A&M throughout the whole process but i think the drubbing we took in norman made him go North.

Good riddence i say.

Any other GC's look forward to today as sort of Christmas in February?

Most definitely.

Peterson sent in his Letter of Intent this morning to OU.

Hopefully, Fred Bledsoe will sign with us over UTenn...if so, we'll have the best class in probably 20 years or so at around 31 signees.

We also have Chris Mortensen's (from ESPN) son signed and is apparently a very good QB.

The surprises so far this year are aTm and alabama with some damn good classes.

Coach's press conference at 2, Bledsoe announcement at about 3...damn near can't wait.

Definately.

Ohio State has a pretty good recruitment going on right now. They sign up Four Players from one of the top High School Football program in Cleveland. I'm Still waiting to see if Ohio State will Pursue Raymond Williams, Ohio's Mr. Football.

Hell Yeah, we got Bledsoe. He walks in wearing a UTenn T-shirt, took it off and said "I'm going to Arkansas!", now that's what I'm talkin bout.

Yeah, I've been super in to it for the past two years. Not enough to pay for rivals or anything but I've got my free sources.

Bill Callahan's last three weeks have been amazing. Considering the late start, letting go of 6 Assistants, it's amazing we've pulled ourselves into the top 20-30.

Everyone better look out, b/c if he can do that in only three weeks, it's not hard to figure out what it is going to be like when he has a whole year to recruit! Nebraska may get a top 5 class for the first time in...well probably since Mickey Joseph was the #1 player in the country and came here and that was like 1987 or 88.

Marcus Stroud was a little more theatrical when he pulled the same prank a few years ago...

Yeah, i wish i could have.

My A&M forum switched their Football and Recruiting forums to pay only for the day, to avoid massive server meltdown.

We lost out in the AD sweepstakes, but got a huge pickup in Samson Taylor. Not to mention we picked up Pierre Brown when he decommited from OU

Here's hoping that after 3 or 4 years coach Fran will be able to convince top Texas talent to stay instate, like they should

NO kidding!!! Well you know that Oklahoma is the biggest county in Texas. Anyway, not that any of that Texas talent will make it down to Waco anytime soon, but seriously, stay in Texas!!! (Not that I'm a HUGE TAMU fan after that 73-10 massacre in College Station this year. )

Let's not talk scores.

That'll get the Okies and the wannabe-Okies in here spitting and fuming and posting 77-0 everywhere. (yes, i did use the work Okies)

And what are you talking about? that top Texas talent rolls into Waco every weekend when OU, t.u. and A&M come to play at Kyle Field East I kid, i kid.

And seriously, half of OU's roster is Texans.

Kyle Field East? Is that supossed to be Baylor? isnt' Waco WEST of College Station? Let's not forget all the top talent that comes to Floyd Casey to see the likes of Nebraska and K State and Missouri, etc etc etc kick our hind parts. Let me just tell you, as much as I loved Baylor, football season was the worst couple of months I ever went through each year. All I can say is at least I don't whoop!!!! jk And I really must tell you that I was born an Okie.........
Hey what about that game 3 years ago at CS when it was 10-0 at half time (BAYLOR WINNING!!!) I seriously left that game crying.

I always knew Baylor would one day be at the top of the SWC again.

Hmmm, coulda swore that Waco was east....my god, i've been away from Texas too long, i'm starting to lose my sense of directions!!!

Kyle Field North then? Merely a reference to every time we play at Casey there's always more maroon than green there

hehe, that game three years ago? Hmm, you remember that game 18 years ago when you last beat us? Well, me neither, cuz i was only 6 I kid, i kid, i like Baylor, it was great to see you guys more competitive this year. Now, Tech on the other hand.....
