Online payment of dues et al
Do any of your national orgs collect dues via their website? In other words, does KKG or KD, for example, have a spot on their website where members and alumnae can go in, enter their credit card and pay their dues or make a donation directly (I'm not talking about paypal etc). I'm doing a little research on this and how prevalent this is. And if they do have such a thing, do you use it/like it?
Thanks
Marie

Our HQ does take credit card payments. Mostly though, chapters pay with good 'ol paper checks.
I wouldn't be in favor of paypal unless it reduced the cost of taking money (by reducing need for extra staff).
Otherwise, paypal takes $ off the top. As large as GLO receivables are, I'd be surprised to see them go to Paypal.

Theta now has a place where you can pay your alumnae per capita dues online (with Visa/MC, I believe), but you're encouraged to pay through your alumnae chapter (since their dues are higher to pay for local activities).
This is new with the inception of new per capita dues.
I think there's still a link to the info at www.kappaalphatheta.org.

Chi Omega's national website does offer a way to make donations online. You enter a credit card number - it's not PayPal. However, you cannot pay dues this way - only make donations to the Foundation.

Gamma Phi Beta allows alumnae to pay their dues online using a credit card. They do not accept Paypal. I think all collegians pay their dues through their chapters, not directly to our HQ.

I would love to see these actual screen shots but alas I discovered they are all in member only areas, of course!

Tri Delta is testing this online payment system with my chapter (and I think Epsilon Alpha too). Its via billhighway or something like that. If I can find the website, I'll send it to you.
It is supposed to be this great thing where you can request money from your budget if you are an officer, and directly pay to them.
Personally, we all hate it. Officer's can't access the pages to get their money, and I can't figure out how to pay dues online. So basically, we give all our checks to our VP/Finace anyway. Poor girl just has more work added on to her job.

I am not sure what others are doing, but after a lot of thought, we as a Chapter decided to look and go with Omega Financial for the Active Chaper House Rent payments.. I was against it at first, but THEY DO GO after the ones who do not pay alleviating the Chapter Treasure or House Corporation from getting the money! They will go after it and the parents who hve to sign off on it!
The ones who do not pay their debt are hurting the Bro/Sis who are doing their part to keep it going!
Now, the choice is, let someone else collect the money or lose it?

True, but there is no such thing as national alumnae dues for Chi Omega.

Neither at Alpha Sigma Phi for that matter either. But that doesn't stop the Educational Foundation hitting me up (or shaking me down, depending on your point of view ) for contributions, though! (I give when I can and when I can afford to do so.)

There may be some misconceptions about PayPayl reflected in this thread. I own an eCommerce business so I thought I'd jump in.
All credit card processors charge a fee per transaction. The difference with a PayPal is that it's "branded" so you know you're doing business through them, unlike other processors who choose to be invisible throughout the transaction. Depending on the number of transactions you run through them, PayPal can actually be cheaper than other processors.
PayPal is a large (owned by eBay), secure and very reputable processor. And, unlike others, they have an "e-check" option so it's not even necessary to have a credit card to make a payment.
No, I have no financial interest in PayPal.

Of course I know that, silly! I'm on the NYC Alum Eboard after all!
I meant that the collegiate chapter members cannot pay their dues online.
