Beautiful Headquarters

I visited a friend in Atlanta over the weekend who lives on Ponce de Leon. We left his driveway, and about 2 blocks later, I saw an amazing house with a small sign that read "Alpha Delta Pi". I asked about it, and was surprised to learn that it was your home. You must be very proud.

Thank you- what a nice compliment! But I have to tell you I am so jealous! I've never seen Memorial Headquarters. I would love to see it especially now with the expansion.

Aren't you the sweetest thing for taking the time to tell us about our Headquarters? I got a chance to visit when I was in Atlanta for a job interview, and was just amazed! It's interesting in a beautiful, historic home aspect, and the inside is just a delight for Alpha Delta Pi's - all sorts of Adelphean badges, Eugenia Tucker Fitzgerald's thimble - little things like that, and bigger things like where our International Board has meetings and such.

It's simply magnificent, and I'm so thrilled that you recognized it, kapsigcub!

Thank you so much! That was incredibly sweet to share with us. It was nice that you noticed, but even more so that you took the time to remark about it on here. Again, Thank you.

I live only about and hour and a half from Atlanta. I'm down there at least once a month, and I've never vistied our headquarters! I've driven by it quite a few times, but I've never been inside. My Diamond is leaving for Pharmacy school at Mercer in August, so she and I have planned a trip down the ATL this summer to find her an apt, and we've decided we're going to visit the headqurters then!

I am sooooo jealous of anyone who gets to see our HQ.

Anyone up for a road trip. We can start on the west coast and head to Atlanta.

I am from Warner Robins, GA and though I've only driven by HQ, I have been to the Cannonball House (the Adelphean room) several times. I have to tell you it's amazing to walk in there and see the original portraits of our founders from the Alpha book on the wall! They have lots of great stuff and I'd also recommend going to Wesleyan to see the fountain and other stuff they have. Ok, I'll stop rambling now!

There used to be a Memorial Garden, and something for Mrs. Rex Van Akin at Headquarters. Are they still there?

Haha sorry Bri - I've already done the road trip from east to west coast. But hey as long as someone else wants to drive then I'm game! sweetieadpi and i, when were originally planning our trip, were going to go south and across but we realized we'd have to tack on several extra days if we didnt that and we couldnt imagine being in a car longer than we had to be. We both really wanted to see EO but we're going to have to make that another trip. I've been down in Atlanta but that was before joining adpi and I'd love to go down again.

Remodeling/Expansion

Ladies,
I was in Atlanta again over the weekend, and while driving down Ponce, noticed that a contracting company had signs and equipment all over your lawn. Are you remodeling?

Again, it is a stately and beautiful home for your MH.

HQ are beautiful. I went once on an ADPi road trip to Spring Break and we stopped there and also visited a few ADPi houses on the way and I went 2 other times, once with my grandma, which was kind of emotional. Shes an ADPi and experiencing it with her was amazing, that was my first time to see it when I went with her and I went a third time when I was traveling with some friends. I love Macon. Its so beautiful there. I plan to go there again possibly this summer/fall. My friend Brad moved to Atl about 35 mins from Macon so Im making him take me there again to see it. Im sure he and the hubby will love it LOL.....

Its great to see. I encourage everyone to go at least once. Lots to see there....

I want to see it now more cause of the expansion. I hope when its all done they have a big open house, Im going for that for sure. Im hoping one day I can land a job there. Slowly Im working on it, but its my goal oneday to work at HQ.

ADPi

When I was in Atlanta over Oct 2004 (Adrienne's Phi Mu intiation!), I chanced to meet the ADPi Executive Director at an Altanta Panhell function.

She extended an invitation to visit your EO. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL BUILDING! The new section is wonderful with the natural wood work. The older house is something to be desired, the southern charm and elegance just shines.

Plans were underway for its renovation, so I would be excited to see what is happening now.

ADPi HQ

I was just curious if your HQ allows public tours ( for non-members of your sorority) of your headquarters. I am traveling to ATL on March 25th.

From the descriptions posted here, it sounds like a great place to visit.

I am taking a trip to Indianpolis Indiana this summer to visit my fraternity's headquarters and June cannot get here soon enough!!!

Guess you could say that I am a historical junkie when it comes to the different histories of the great GLOs in our country.

That's funny, 2 of my chapter sisters and I are going to Atlanta over Spring Break on Friday, and we might be staying at the Beta Beta house on our way down since we aren't leaving until 5 or so...
