OMG NO . I feel so horrible, I swear from the bottom of my heart all we're doing is making fun of me b/c the things we brought up were rumors or jokes about me. I started the thread honestly and was interested in your reply. Which is why I restated later that, after thinking about it, because I don't think of the site like that, I see people as lil internet personalities, not real people, if that makes any sense.

That wasn't to insinuate that YOU see this as a dating service, I was simply thinking out loud that that's probably what leads me to keep people on here at such a distance.

It is interesting to me---- somehow you (not you in particular, Ivory, but you in general) got past that and things didn't work out. I'm just trying to figure out if its a mental block, if other people have "gone into that territory" as well, or whatever.

While I have a couple of people on here that I actually talk to outside of GC, I've never had a "relationship" with anyone on here nor would I ever want to. Several reasons I suppose, I have a boyfriend that I love and I've never done the online dating thing and I don't ever plan to.

Either way though, if it works for you then good for you, it just isn't anything that I ever even considered.

I do think Rudith is quite possibly the hottest name I've ever heard by the way. Jules I will give you $100 for that when we get back to school.

I kind of like fairytales and happy endings . . .

However the distances involved in most possible GC romances are heartbreaking . . .

I guess that would apply to internet dating in general . . . It doesn't say that you can't have a fling.

Or if you are very romantic, it doesn't mean you can't maintain a state of unfulfilled love/regard/affection . .. the kind that poets write about and teen-agers swoon over.

I certainly wouldn't play holier than thou and say its a bad idea or anything . . but the distances do tend to be unforgiving.
