Post Big Brother

Girls,
I was trying to refrain from bringing up this topic. But is the black guy on "Big Brother" fine or what? His name is Will from Philadelphia. For all you who may not know about that show, its sort of like Survivor, only these people live in a house for 3 months with no outside contact and the winner gets $500,000.
But anyway, it seems to me, that on this show and on Survivor, the other members of the show which are white, seem to want to vote the black man off because they can't "relate" to where he is coming from. Just thought I'd say that. It's been on my mind.
Now, Will know he has a woman, why is rubbing on another woman's feet...lol...okay, I'm out.

I will admit that I can't get into shows like Real World, Road Rules, Survivor, Big Brother, etc. I can't see why anyone would want their personal lives broadcast to the public, and I am a litte too self-absorbed to be entertained by anyone else's life and business all like that. Maybe I'm just a weirdo! However, I will say that my girl called me up the other night and insisted that I turn the channel to Big Brother just to peep this dude out.

SkegeeGirl, he is quite FOIN!

Big Brother comes on Mon-Fri at 8:00 except on Wednesday when it comes on after Survivor.

I am a big fan of the Real World and I don't think Big Brother can be compared. I've watched it twice and it was in a word, BORING.

I LOVE the Real World too, Spr99Diva! I haven't seen the Survivor show or Big Brother, but I doubt if they can compare. One question to everyone: Wouldn't these shows be HORRIBLE w/o the Black people?

Actually, I enjoyed Big Brother for the sole reason that the people are getting along. Real World has gotten twisted. I stopped watching during the Hawaii season. How are you going to have a woman with an illness such as alcoholism and sexuality issues (didn't she start to like men after a while?) and throw her to the wolves like that? MTV is only about ratings shares, and they hurt people.

As far as black folks on "reality" shows, it never works out.

1. Remember Glynis? After she got kicked off Road Rules (unfairly, I might add) she died back at home. They threw a homeless woman, who kept it real, back out onto the streets, when they could have saved the situation, and helped her out.

2. David: was he really that dangerous, that a sad, self-hating black woman who is just about getting paid to lie down and her white woman instigating friend , and a SHERIFF's DEPUTY (a woman as well who wasn't there) felt he had to go, after Tammi and Beth STARTED that fateful tussle?

3: Syrus, the bruh from Boston: he was an OJ Simpson type to me, and ethically corrupt. You're supposed to be taking care of the children at your daycare center, not dating their mothers or getting drunk and leaving them at a conference to go party. Loser.

4: The guy from Seattle: forgot his name, but uhhhh, ISSUES. Nuff said, slapping some psycho heffa in the head cuz she called you gay. UH DUH!

I could go on, because I used to be addicted to these shows, but let's just hop to Big Brother: "Mega" William acts ignorant, and starts out trying to holla at Brittany, feeding into the undersexed stereotype that my fine brothers must fight everyday. Cussin up a storm, acting a fool, playing pranks on people, hitting on the beauty queen. Whateva! he won't last.

All the tight people of color are gotten rid of quickly, because that is not what White America wants to see. They don't want their antiquated misconceptions of us to be blown away by reality. Dynamic sistas and brothas are threats: gotta get them out of the public eye, so we can show America the Saffires and Amoses, OJs and Whoopis.

Alright, I've vented for this week. LMCBO

Sal

Salience:

Gladys (I think that's her name) DIED after leaving Road Rules? When was this? I remember seeing her as the hostess who kicked off the Real World/Road Rules Challenge a few months ago, if we're talking about the same woman-the one who slapped one of the guys during the Mexico season. If she's who you're talking about, I'd like to know what happened to her, especially since I saw her grinning it up on the RW/RR Challenge special not too long ago.

I'm not quite sure about Glynis, I couldn't stand Road Rules til a couple seasons ago. But come on, you GOTTA love the Black girls from Real World. Who kept it realer than Heather B? Who was quicker to put someone in their place than Cynthia? Who cared less about what folks thought than Kameelah? And let's not even TALK about Melissa from this season! They sure know how to pick 'em. As far as the Black guys.....that's a whole DIFFERENT story. Stephen from Seattle.....I saw that NUT comin' from a mile away. Black guy, Jewish, White frat. Can you say ISSUES? (Not that there's any thing wrong with any of those things). Syrus was a butthole. I hadn't seen anybody with a head that BIG since The Mask with Cher and that lion faced guy. This new David character seems confused too. What's wrong with just fallin' for the black girl? Dang! Always gotta chase some goofy lookin white chick, that you KNOW don't want YO' black behind, but...I digress. I think I'll watch Big Brother to see what all the fuss is about. I still like Real World better though.

I love the Real World, I didn't like Cyrus from boston either, and I think it was totally wrong how Tammi and the white girl did David, b/c she did start it. Melissa is a trip!! I think she is so funny. I watched Big Brother once, and it bored me to death...they were taking care of a chicken with an eye problem...needless to say, the tv was quickly turned Do you all think David and Melissa are gonna hook up? I think he's a cutie too

Tonight was my first time watching Big Brother (and you KNOW tha bruh had the most votes to leave the house), and I haven't seen any of the Survivor shows. I enjoy the RR/RW shows, but I haven't had the chance to see either on this season. But the few that I have seen, Melissa has tripped me waaaaaaayyyyy out!

I must say that "Big Brother" is off the chain! Today, each house guest got a chance to vote another house guest for banishment. It seems to me that the people who voted against Mega cited reason's like his personality. I mean what's wrong with a brotha being himself? He is so funny and cool. I really like him. He asked for everyone who voted for him to tell him why! The room was silent. It was so hilarious. It was like everyone was on mute.
I applaud Mega for standing up to the other house guests without biting his tongue. Mega is just being "real" and if the other house guest would be "real" and deal with the reality of living with 9 perfect strangers they could get along alot better and the show would run alot smoother.
However, Mega did make a remark and I know that it will show up on tomorrows show. He told Jordan (a white woman)in so many words to stand up cause she is the only "sistah" in the house...and I just know CBS is going to take that and run.
All I can say is that I hope he doesn't get voted off. I think he's a nice guy. People just don't understand him and won't even bother to try.

Okay thanks for clarifying, I could have SWORN I saw ana article in EW saying Glynis (Gladys?) die. Glad she's bouncing back.

So, why William is trying so hard to cheat on his woman? Funny how he and Jordan (the "sista") ROFL have been picked as the first two to go.

Man, I will probably watch, but I still gave up on RW in Hawaii.

I can't front, though, y'all were right about sistas, Heather B and Cynthia would wreck shop!

Anyone going to try for BB2? I was thinking about it, but no internet access would KILL ME!!

LOL

Okay here's the deal on the 'brother on "Big Brother"...

His birth name is William Collins he is known as Hiram Ashantee and is a staunch supporter of Khalid Adbul Muhammad, the former Nation of Islam leader. He has marched with Minister Muhammed at the Milion Man March and carried a shotgun in Jasper, Texas to protest the murder of James Byrd.

How he ended up on "big Brother" is incredible to me. To read more of his bio and read his quotes on life, sex, and polygamy go to http:\\www.mostnewyork.com (7/14/2000 edition).

He's like WHOA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Salience,
I am so with you on that tip girl. Heather B and Cynthia did keep it real all the way through. Every time I think about the first time I sawy that one episode on RR Miami when the white/russian girl told Cynthia "I am so sick of your black attitude..."
my skinned crawled and my mouth dropped. I just knew Cynthia was gonna lay her butt out. Do you remember?
