Rudey where does it end lol?

Ok when we are talking about the measures taken now in our "War on Terror" you seem to argue expediency.

Do what is convenient. But let me pose a couple questions towards you sir

Do you honestly believe that leaving such an open ended system doesn't lend itself to much broader application than it was originally intended? PAtriot Act etc.

How much do you really trust your fellow man with power? (Think GC)

How much do I really trust my fellow man with power? Not one bit. I only trust myself - and only then, sparingly.

But this is all a double edged sword - if you take power away from criminals, you give it to leaders; if you take power away from leader, you give it to criminals.

This was addressed as a part of the meeting I attended at the Carnegie Coucil. The subject was democracies and why they succeed. It was interesting. Maybe I'l go into depth once the paper is published.

Is the Carnegie Council in any way related to the charitable and research Carnegie Foundation, the one headed by (at least it was at some point?) Vartan Gregorian (sp?)? Just curious.
