Risk Management Resources (videos)

I was interested to see the fairly extensive range of risk management videos (anti-hazing etc) the NIC produces/markets from their website - http://www.nicindy.org/resources.html (scroll down to order form item).

I wondered if anyone had seen/used these videos and could comment on whether they're any good, efficacy as resources, how well they're made, etc. I did a search but didn't find any other info or reviews.

I also noted a number of other titles mentioned in an FIPG (Fraternity Insurance Protection Group) publication that didn't seem to be on the NIC website.
1. "Hazing on Trial" - produced by Alpha Tau Omega
2. "The Case of Gamma Nu Pi" - produced by Alpha Tau Omega
3. "Liability and Risk Management" - produced by Sigma Phi Epsilon
4. "The Crime of Hazing" produced by Kappa Sigma
5. "Hazing - a Greek Tragedy" - Eileen Stevens
6. "Campus Rape" - produced by the Santa Monica Hospital Rape Treatment Center
7. "You’re Not Immune" - produced by Kappa Alpha Theta
8. AIDS: A Decision for Life - produced by Health Visions 9. "Fraternity Men on Date Rape: A Candid Conversation" -
produced by NIC
10. "Greeks and AIDS: What We Need to Know" - funded by Kappa Delta Rho
11. "Hazing Lies" - produced by Phi Kappa Tau

Has anyone used these and has any review of them? And where does one order these titles, I couldn't find out?

I have only seen/reviewed the programs that were developed (at least in part) by AGD. Perhaps if you contact some of the National GLOs headquarters who were involved in making them you could get reviews or a chance to preview some of them?

Thumbs up

Decadence, Great Post, I hope that more take a look at this Post!

I myself have never seen one, but I have seen enough reports to know what a problem it has become!

While it might sound small, the Rish Management cost of Insurance has and will continue to take a toll on the costs of local Chapters.

Just what could this extra money mean to a Chapter?

1. Lower Dues.

2. More money for social Events.

3. More money to promote Charity Events.

4. More money to keep the house up and remodel to make it nicer.

Well, I guess I am getting to damn old and see the possibilitys, but it is not going to happen, History seems to prove that!

I would also recommend "Fraternity Row" - which appears to be related to "The case against Gamma Nu Pi" video, and "This is my House" produced by Drew Hunter of GAMMA...

I am pretty sure I've seen the "Hazing on Trial" video produced by ATO. If it's the one I'm thinking about, it had a sobering, strong message. However, the production was a little dull. I would recommend it as a resource for any chapter.

Videos

Decadence i have seen:
Hazing on Trial" - produced by Alpha Tau Omega, "The Crime of Hazing" produced by Kappa Sigma and "Greeks and AIDS: What We Need to Know" - funded by Kappa Delta Rho. The content is great, yet our blossoms believed the tapes were too old. Meaning the cast were from the 80's.

You can borrow these from your campus Greek Life or Student Development library or purchase from NIC.
