? About Bid Matching

I know it's after bid matching for most school but I got a question and what better place to turn then GC!
I'm using my campus of example:

I rank them SDT, A Xi D, and AEPhi
SDT has me on thier B list (

), and A Xi D has me on thier A list.
Both groups haven't reached quota when it comes to me.

Who would I get, SDT or A Xi D?

Whoever you ranked first on your pref card.

maybe I am confused and I am not trying to step on anyone's toes but, wouldnt she get her 2nd choice because.....
If her 1st choice has her on their B list, it means their A list (composing of the amount that quota is...) would get them. I would see the only way of her getting her 1st choice if she was the last girl on the list... Or do I have the system all wrong?!?! Someone let me know please!

She said neither group has reached quota before they got to her, thus she would go to whichever group she ranked first. If SDT had reached quota with their A list, or with a combination of the A and B lists before they reached her, she would automatically go Alpha Xi Delta, regardless of the rank on her pref cards. But since neither group had reached quota by the time they hit her name, they try to match her with the group that she'd most like to be with.

At least that's how I've always understood the system.

Hey, what are you ranking AEPhi last for...

If you were on SDT's B list - if enough people from SDT's A list had matched to other sororities, you'd match to SDT, otherwise you would be held aside. They then make a second (third, fourth...) pass through the pref cards that are held aside. So if, by the second pass, enough people from SDT's A list had matched elsewhere, you'd match to SDT. If SDT had met quota, you'd match to AXiD because you're on their A list.

Yes you would be held over until the whole list of PNMs had been gone through. If they still had spots available you would get SDT, if not you'd get a xi D. What happens is (using my school with three sororities as an example) We have three sororities, an advisor sits with each sororities bid list, and another advisor has the pref cards, she says the name of the woman and her first choice, if they match the person with that chpater's list says match, crosses them off and moves down a person from the second list to the bottom of the first list. If no one says match that card is set aside until the second time around.

To complete the above scenarios, the Greek Advisor would say, "Jane Doe - ABC". If ABC had her on their A list, they'd say "match". If ABC had her on their B list, they would say "B list", and the next name would be read. After everyone's names are read (and hopefully matched with their first choice!), then the names are read again, with both the first and second choices announced. This time, if SDT hadn't filled quota, and they have her on their B list, she's matched to SDT. This is done until everyone possible is matched (including Quota Plus).

at our school, the person doing bid matching reads, "jane doe, XYZ" and if that XYZ chapter has her on her A list, they say match. If she is on their second list, they say "hold." She is held onto by that chapter until either it releases her bc they have reached quota and not gotten to her, or they finally after getting to her on the list (people above her on the list have matched other chapters) match her. Kinda confusing. SDT will probably hold you until they either reach quota and release you or get to you on the list and match you (Since you preffed them first, they get first pick on you). If you're released by SDT and AZD hasn't reached quota they'll get you.
