This is for the DFW Metroplex Chops
I have a question......why is it that there are three LXA chapters within 40 miles of each other in DFW metroplex and never(at least not since I have been around) has there ever been mention of a huge party combining all three's resources? If there are any Brothers from SMU or TCU that would want to throw a party with UNT, we are open to suggestions.

If you have a question there will be someone here to help you and give some ideas!
Glad to have you aboard!
Glad you are trying to get something cookin in DWF area!

Dood. Try 5 chapters in the DFW area. UNT, TCU, SMU, Tarelton State (75 miles away) and Texas Wesylian (which is in Ft. Worth).
Ive been a chopper in Texas for 12 years and have seen all the DFW area chapters in all states of order and disorder. To my knwoledge, no one has ever probabily planned a get together. I do know IHQ kinda frowns upon a big joint party for risk mgmt reasons. However, if you were to get the Dallas Area Alumni Assn to sponsor a Vollyball tourney or something, that would probably fly.

Interesting thing about Insurance!!!!
When I owned my Liquor business and drove 10 mi. each way dailey was differeent when I got divorced and lived 4 blocks away!
So instead of driving 20 miles a day, I was driving 2, insurance jumped way up! I was in my 50's so insurance should go down right?
Nope, it is done on zip codes in a specific area, go figure, real show of intelligence isnt it?
Now back to the original question!
Why not try to have a get together for the Zetas in DFW area. Lifesaver might be right on on the Risk Management thought, but whether Hdq. wants other Zetas to have a group gathering, We are all Brothers of the Same Fraternity and should be able to get to know each other beside conclaves and GA!
Think some of the Zetas still do skips where the New Associate Classes take off in mass for a weekend and go to other Zetas for a weekend! Always thought that was neat to meet Brothers from other Schools!

Our AM's snuck off to NSU this year and partied with them on Monday night, instead of coming to chapter. Bastards.

re: Insurance
Believe it or not, car insurance is HIGHER in small/rural
areas than in big metro ones too.
I was living in Lex, KY (~1/4 million pop) when I decided
to go to grad school at Vandy. As a student, I could get
insurance as a Nashville (~1 million) resident, or in my hometown
of Hopkinsville, KY (~30,000)....
it went down slightly if I chose to be a Nashville resident (from Lex)
it would go WAY UP if I chose to be a Hopkinsville resident!
Needless to say, I chose to be a Nashville resident and
register my car in TN (car taxes much cheaper there too!)

OKAY OLD Folks,
back to the topic at hand:
In talking with one of the Brothers last night, guess who, we discussed this at length.
The Risk Managenment from International can be a very valid ooint. Andy, wasnt this you?
If there are 5 Zetas who get together and something happens and is Alcohol related, there could be "The Dreaded Law Suits" against not only LXA International, but against each Zeta and their Officers would be there like s**t on a dog!
Now, if there was a gathering that was not Alchohol related, then the blessing would be given.
I beleive it was Life who mention Volley Ball Tourney! What about a Golf Outing or a soft ball tourney!
There can be many ways to Bond with other Brothers just as we do indivudually as on G C or as each of us must do seeing other Zetas as I have.
Just a thought, dont give up on the idea though!

I'm a little further away, down in San Marcos, but I know a bunch of brothers would head up there if we got something organized. The volleyball or golf idea would be cool, actually my chapter's alumni association has an annual golf tournament. We had one right near this years homecoming and it went great, that would be awesome if next year we could have a bunch of Texas alumni show up. Anyways, if ya'll are serious about this we should do something, i think it would be sweet. BUT keeping alcohol out of it would be a little hard...
