Taps is a military tribute usually played at the funeral of a fallen soldier.

Since today is 9-11 Billy was saying we should play taps.

Even more appropriate, fire bells in NYC will be ringing 5-5-5-5 at the moment of the anniversary of the collapse of the towers.

More about the tradition: http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...threadid=39206

More information on the origin of Taps: http://www.carsonlongalumni.org/odds...ry_of_taps.htm

Day is done,
gone the sun,
from the lakes
from the hills
from the sky,
all is well,
safely, rest,
God is near.

Fading light,
Dims the sight,
And a star gems the sky
Gleaming bright,
From afar,
Drawing, near,
Falls the night.

Thanks and praise,
For our days,
Neath the sun
Neath the stars
Neath the sky,
As we go,
This, we, know,
God is near.

Yeah. I didn't know what would be appropriate. But also for servicemen and women who have given their lives in the War on Terror. Remember them too.

It is such a solemn day today, we had a memorial service at noon, and walking by it was creepy. Through out a busy campus, we had that one area of just silence.

I'm really mad becuase I want to see me roomate from freshman year today. Because she was the one I was with through out most of the day in 2001. I can't go see her though becuase she isn't greek and we can't talk to girls that arn't until after recruitment.
