From USAtoday.com
Nelly bottles Pimp Juice
Britney Spears might swig Red Bull, but rapper Nelly prefers Pimp Juice, now no longer just track No. 6 on his Nellyville CD. It's a non-carbonated energy drink crammed with vitamins C, B-5. B-6 and B-12, as well as riboflavin, niacin and the amino acid taurine.
The 140-calorie Pimp Juice, which retails for $1.99, hits stores nationwide in September. Nelly is marketing the drink with a partner.

God. D**n. We. Will. Never. Learn.
Now Pimp Juice joins Pit Bull as "energy drinks."
When will we end this?

WHOSE GOT THE (PIMP) JUICE? Better not answer that unless you wanna get boycotted.
(Sep. 9, 2003) *After reading about Nelly's Pimp Juice you really thought that it was gonna be all good? Did you really believe that no one was going to protest the situation? Yeah, we didn't think you were that naive.
This morning at 10 (West Coast time) a coalition of black organizations are stepping up to the task. Led by activist Najee Ali, the coalition is set to launch a national boycott against the energy drink and the stores that carry it.
"Nelly is selling out because he only cares about making money, just like pimps and drug pushers. We intend to chase Nelly's Pimp Juice out the black community," stated Ali, National director of Project Islamic Hope.
The press conference/boycott will be staged at The Liquor Bank, 3600 Stocker Blvd. (Crenshaw & Stocker)

Great, let's give Nelly EVEN MORE publicity! I had never even HEARD of Pimp Juice but now it'll be announced in all the media outlets.
Slick.

Najee Ali is an interesting cat. A few years ago, I saw a story about him and his efforts to keep the Los Angeles black upper-middle-class and middle-class from leaving the Crenshaw area. The Liquor Bank is at the foot of the Baldwin Hills/View Park area, BTW.
