Unless they added a system in the last couple of years, I don't think they have Greek Life there.

To my knowledge, Notre Dame has no Greek system. Sorry.

A friend of mine went there and said that their upperclass dorms are kind of like a Greek system. What that means, I don't know. You might be able to find out more info on their website.

My boyfriends roommate went there and yes, the dorms are sort of like a Greek System. Dorms have formals, make t-shirts for their parties, hang out together, etc. I don't know if there is any sort of intake process to be in a certain dorm or if you're stuck with whoever resident life puts you with.

Notre Dame doesn't have a Greek system, but as others have said, the dorms there somewhat resemble one. Dorms are single sex. Barring a disaster, you stay in the dorm you are placed in as a freshman for all of your three/four years in university housing (some students move out to apartments in their senior year). Each dorm has its own colors and mascot. Dorms have formals and parties, and most of them sponsor some kind of event, like a talent show, over the course of the school year. They do dorm-wide events to raise money for charity and participate in intramurals together.

Sounds a little bit like the way Harry Potter's school is set up where each house competes with the others.

It is!! My friend goes to ND and she can't believe that people move between buildings, and I can't believe that they stay! When you apply to be a Resident Assistant at ND, you apply within the building where you would want to be the RA, namely the one you've been living in for the past 2/3 years. If you're not happy with your floor, you just move to a different floor, which makes no sense to me since you still have to live with the same people!!
But it makes her happy, and that's what matters, eh? Still, dorms=fraternities & sororities. It works for them. I think that ND is the type of Catholic school that believes GLO's are Satan's spawn. Or maybe I'm just being goofy.
