Oh my gosh everyone, I am SO sorry to keep you hanging, but my ISP has been down for 36 hours with that damned virus! I was ready to post at 10:30 last night, but couldn't get online! grrrr
I have two days worth of events to update you on, so here goes:

Saturday
Ravenclaw - Had a really cute Hawaiian theme, with again, the cutest songs. I met my rusher, and went to a table to make things for their philanthropy. Obviously, I can't say what I made, cause that would give it away, but it kind of annoyed me that my rusher didn't make one too, I felt really awkward. Anyway, this house felt a lot better that day. The girl I mostly talked to clicked a lot with me, and we talked almost constantly. They served water with little umbrellas in them. I was feeling much better about this house than the day before, not that friday went bad, but it could have been better. Their closing song was again very cute, and I was surprised at how quickly the time went by.

Slytherin - I feel weird saying this, but Slytherin is one of my favorites. I met several more girls this day, and all of them seemed really nice. I'd met around 10 girls total by this day, and had good conversations with them all. We went on a house tour, and chatted in the living room. It was really cool, because girls I met the day before came by to say hi and remembered me. I also found out that this house has an additional philanthropy that is extremely dear to my heart. They served punch, which was a lot better than their nasty lemonade the day before. By the end of the party, this house was on my "definitely going back to" list.

Gryffindor - At the end of Friday night, this house was leaning toward being my favorite. By the end of Saturday, it was at the bottom of my list. The girl who rushed me was the philanthropy chair, and we talked a lot about that. She seemed pretty nice, although she was definitely someone I would never talk to outside of this situation. Not my type at all. The second girl I talked to wasn't much better. We went downstairs, to make philanthropy projects. There were 4 rushees and 2 rushers at the table, and I felt completely ignored. The rushers seemed more interested in goofing around together than getting to know us better. I felt like they completely dropped the ball. One good thing was, they served really good lime punch and they had a hawaiian theme as well.

Hufflepuff - After Friday I wasn't sure about this house, but I said I would still consider them in case Saturday went well. And boy did it ever! The girl who rushed me was so nice, and extremely knowledgeable about the house. We made philanthropy projects and were served water and animal crackers. I also found out that they hold 3 dances during the year which really excited me (I'm so girly!) At first I wasn't too thrilled about their philanthropy, but they showed a video that turned me on to the idea more. I talked to I think 2 other girls this night, and they were both nice and talkative. This house went so much better this night, and it almost completely revolved around my first rusher. She should be rush queen! Completely impressive.

So, there's Saturday night, the next post is about invitations!

Ok, onto invitations! I was sooo worried I was only going to get a few, if any, because I'm older. But.......I got invited back to all 4!!!! Aaaaahhh talk about decision time. I decided to cut Gryffindor, because although the first night went well, it wasn't the conversations that I liked, it was more the vibe. And on Saturday, I feel like they just completely bombed. I considered cutting Hufflepuff, because of the first day, but I felt like Saturday had gone so well that I would want to see them again, since my girl on Saturday was sooo awesome! So, Sunday night I was to attend
Ravenclaw
Slytherin
and Hufflepuff

Wow, Amanda, I am loving the Harry Potter theme!! I hope your Gryffindor is not the same as mine, since you cut them

Ok, tonight, Sunday, was skit night. I attended 3 parties for 50 mins each. Here's how they went (in chronological order, as always):

Slytherin - Again, conversations went well. Nothing about this house has really jumped out and impressed me, but it has been consistently good. They served Sprite in cool cans, and had a cool skit. I'll post about the skits after bid day, in case they might give the houses away! But, it was really funny. I talked to my rusher about retreats, and sisterhood activities. Also, I again expressed my interest in their philanthropy. The party went really fast, due to the skit, but it went well. If they invite me tomorrow, I will definitely accept.

Ravenclaw - I was kind of irritated that this house paired me with my rusher from the 1st round. I didn't have a very good conversation with her the first round, and that continued tonight. I don't know why they would put me back with her. I hope I'm not her rush crush, though I don't see why I would be, because she's definitely not mine! I don't even have one! Anyway, they served some lime slushy punch. They also introduced us to their house mom, who seemed nice. I talked to 2 other girls during the party, and they went ok, but no fireworks. Their skit was really funny though. Most of it was kind of bland, but the girl who rushed me yesterday had a very vital role in it, and she was absolutely hilarious! I really don't know about this house. They have been up and down with me. Most of the girls are ok, but some I totally don't "dig". Anyway, if they invite me back tomorrow, I'm not sure I'll accept.

Hufflepuff - This house has been surprising me. The first night didn't go well, but the past two have. The girls who rushed me seemed more involved and interested in the house. I even talked to the president for quite a while! Their skit was pretty good, it dealt a lot with their philanthropy. The girl who rushed me last night (who was great) played Sporty Spice, and was really funny. They served water and popcorn (it tied in with the skit). Everyone seemed really laid back and approachable tonight. A girl who rushed me on the first night, said "hi and nice to see you here again". I was like "yeah, I'm shocked as hell that I'm back too" Of course I thought this, no way I would actually say it! I'm somewhat concerned about the inconsistency with this house, but if they invite me back tomorrow, I will seriously consider it.

Overall, rush is going great. I feel like I'm past some of the hard parts. I was seriously concerned I wouldn't get any invitations back. Now that I've been invited back, i feel so much more relaxed. I've really been able to be myself and get to know the houses better. I'm really looking forward to tomorrow (eeek, my dress!), and am SOOO looking forward to Tuesday, when i find out which house is my home! (Notice I said, when, not if, I'm certain I'll find my place!)

it sounds like you are keeping an open mind! when do you get your invites to pref? i love pref. it is my favorite round of rush! good luck!

you sound like you are really doing your part to find your "home." it's so great to read about you taking second looks at houses and really making an effort. i know you will end up in the chapter that you were meant for!

We get our invites tomorrow between 11-1. Of course I'll be there at 10:59, because I can't wait to find out! I'll post ASAP, cause my afternoon is free!
