How do you feel about no more "divisions?"

For the ladies who went to LTS, I know you must have some opinion on the discontinuation of the "divisions." For those who don't know what I am talking about, previously, chapters were divided into Regions and then smaller groups called Divisions. My chapter was in Region 4, Division 19. Now, we're called Region 8 and include each Phi Sig chapter in Maryland, as well as DC. Anyway, I think it's a good idea because it will enable chapters to associate with different chapters than we normally do. (Three chapters were added to our region.) My only complaint is that is that Division Conference is now called Regional Conference and Founder's Day will be called Regional Founder's Day. Regional Conference just sounds really silly to me for some odd reason. Anyway, I know my region is planning a huge luncheon for Regional Founder's Day since we are turning 90 years old this year! They are trying to reach out to all alumna to get them to participate. So, if you are in the Maryland area.....expect a call from me inviting you to the celebration. Yay for Phi Sig!!!

Region 12 - pilot project

Hey there,

Try being part of Region 12 - it's all the West Coast chapters. That is going to be fun trying to coordinate Founders day and Regional conferences. I do have to say I'm excited though since our region is doing a Pilot Project along with Region 1 in the New England area.

I like the new set-up too.
We were division 24 and 25, now were Region 10 - so we've got 6 more groups to get to know, making up 11 chapters in our region.
My chapter is hosting Founder's day this year! I hope it turns out well! I know there's prolly one chapter that won't make it since they're several hours away by car whereas the rest are 1 - 3 hours away....but they had that problem in their old division too.

I think that even though we ARE all in the region together..(west coast chapters) that we plan conference and founder's day with the closest chapters to us. At least that's what our archon told us. I have another question about the new way of doing things.. what do you all think about no more seperate new member meetings ?? I dont' think I like it... I mean I kinda felt special having a new meeting to go to, not like I was being hazed...

well, i think we might have extra meetings still...we've always invited sapphire sisters to come along to help their younger sapphires, so we'll prolly keep it the same...
basically have an open meeting that anyone can attend - not mandatory.
It'd be hard for NM to retain all information given during a chapter meeting...but everyone is supposed to read the manual and fill out the questions beforehand, anyway.

we'll just have to see...
