Yeah, I had to call bullshit when they were showing Bob Hope clips of him being interviewed by Larry King in 1990 last week or so (after his death). LK asked him about running for office and he said some stuff about Jack Valenti or some other old actor from back in the day and a group of them trying to get him to run for president. His response to them was that he really wasnt that interested in the job. Had Bob paid attention in school, he might have known that you had to be a natural born citizen of the US to be president and wouldnt have let the 65,000 or so Political Sci. majors out there in TV land know he had no idea what he was talking about because Bob Hope, was born Leslie Townes Hope in 1903 in London, England to Brittish parents.

Partial list of those running for governor
Arnie "It's no a tumor" Schwazanegar 9sp?)
Larry "Smut Paddler that Care" Flynt
A porno star
Gary "What cha talking bout Willis" Coleman
I think they should debate. I'll pay $2 to see it.

Here's a reason why I think Arnie shouldn't run for governor of California. He's actually a machine sent from the future to protect John Conner. I don't think that people from the future should be allowed to run for office. They would know too much.

You're wrong. He's really Douglas Quaid, a Mars operative who had his memory erased and implanted with a new one in order to "protect meltdown". He was in implanted as being married to Sharon Stone.

Arnold probably will win on his name alone even though he has never held a political office before that. Regan did hold other offices before he was governor. If Grey can't win go Larry Flint. If Arnold wins least he will have a die hard democrat wife. Maybe she can pull some influence.

He's already a colossal joke to me b/c he's used both the line from the Hans and Franz skits from SNL ("Pump (clap) YOU up") and the Terminator movie ("I'll be back") in his speeches/blurbs so far....This election better happen soon or else he'll run out of movie lines to quote! He's just a caricature of all the roles he's played...WTF does he really have to offer as a candidate?

Re the recall...
sorry if I'm late jumping on this train, but does Cali have a special law that allows them to do the recall, or can it be done in any state?

Actually, I hear that good ol' Arnie is pretty involved in politics, although he's never held an office. One other thing I've heard about him is that he's a pretty hardcore republican (one of the few actors that actually is), which makes me happy .
Also... as far as being elected president goes... it's a real shame that we couldn't change the law so that he could get into office there too... I mean... come on... what country would have the balls to f**k w/ America if we had Arnold leading the army? I can just imagine the Bin Ladens and Saddams of the world sh*tting themselves during his addresses.

But Sheila- we don't have any famous celebs to run for gov if we kick out Rendell!
Who could run? Christina Aguilera? Kobe Bryant? (he's from Philly, right?).
Hehe, how about Mario Lemieux?
This whole situation sounds like a joke set up.....
"Arnold, Gary Coleman (whatchu talkin about, constituents?) , and Larry Flynt were running for governor....."

another candidate emerges
I heard on the radio this morning that there is a 17-year old running too... any truth to this?
I mean, hell, I might as well run. Anybody out there that would vote for me?

If they debate I can see it turing into some "must-see-TV" debate...similar to a reality show....who will be "voted" off next...tune in next time....LOL
then again i shouldn't talk...Im from Florida...where we apparently dont know HOW to vote lol just cracking fun at my own state....after that whole incident i sat at home wondering...was I one of those lame brains who filled out the ballot wrong? ???

That's it, dammit!
Between the Terminator, Larry Flynt, Gary Coleman and Angelyne, I couldn't possibly do any worse than the rest of them. So I'm hereby declaring my candidacy: greeklawgirl for Governor of California in 2003.
Now all I need is $3500 and 65 signatures to officially sign up. Who's interested in helping me run my campaign?
