This is somewhat a personal question and something that you can only answer to yourself and to the Ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated when the time comes.

Well, I don't know if this was intended for sisterfriends, but I knew the first time I seen an AKA at a Feed the Hungry event. She was so giving of herself and extremely friendly. She sat and a chatted with this gentleman for over an hour and actually seemed to be enjoying the conversation. (Now this was a homeless man and he smelled horrific). I was a sophomore in high school at that time, but when I went off to college...my RA was an AKA as well as a presidential scholar and I really looked up to her. She was always dragging me with her to participate in some type of community service...and I just thought she was the greatest. I later transferred and the members at the new school weren't friendly and had a horrible reputation. I chose not to seek membership with that particular chapter, but I never lost my love and admiration for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. I hope to gain membership one day.

Lightbulb Why?

I was wondering, what made you decide that AKA was the organization for you as opposed to the other sororities out there?
