R. Kelly is making BIG money these days. Besides his own song, he has songs by B2K, JS, ATL, and all these other people. My new CD of the moment is Mya.

anyone like dwele?

if you are a lover of neosoul or funkjazz, check out roy hargrove's "rh factor"...he did stuff with d'angelo, q-tip, common, badu, etc.
Going to buy Kindred really soon. I heard the Hargroves CD, and it is fantastic. Is anyone feeling Cody ChesnuTT? I loved The Seed 2.0 on the Roots' CD, but I can't get into his stuff. He's a little raw.

ALSO, I know I'm late, but I just bought Voyage to India. IT IS BEAUTIFUL!!! I can't stop listening to The Truth and Beautiful Surprise!

Monica's "Knock, Knock" ISSSSSS the bomb. I had that on repeat for the longest.

LSG...ya'll. It's ON!

I need to get Kindred. I saw it in CC for I think $12.99. I should have gotten that mess when it was between $6 and $9.

Okay Kiotti sings the Hooker Hooker song and I think he's from Houston, which explains why some people may not have heard it yet.

The dance is really not that bad either, I saw people doing it at this club last night.

Yes, R.Kelly is starting to be like P. Diddy, probably making more money producing music and being featured on people's song than from his own songs. I heard he is going to work with Usher and Tyrese on their next albums....and he is scheduled to go on tour with Ashanti. It looks like he is doing more things than even before the allegations came out.

I can't find it on IMesh. I wanna hear it! I may need to request it from the radio station.

And I agree that R. Kelly is ALL in our faces these days. What is up with that? Why is he so visible now? I do have a slgiht problem with him being in video with kids and stuff though. Like, why is he hanging out in a B2K video? I don't know. That's just a small issue that I have....

ReDefined Diva, Now don't get me wrong I love R. Kelly but how about I was thinking the same thing. I'm like you know your in all this trouble the last thing you need to do is attract more under age girls by appearing with B2K and Marcus Houston.

And is it just me, but whats up with the name the "Pied Piper", it sounds a little like a child molester (i.e. someone who lures little kids... Well whatever it kind of made sense in my head...

I totally agree on the name thing. The first time I heard it I was like "EWWWW!" In the story, didn't the pied piper lead away all the children at some point? After the town did not pay him for getting rid of the rats, he used his music to lure away all of their children to punish them for not paying him.

That is just distasteful regardless of the allegations and despicable given the allegations.

That's the story. Ok, he is slated to perform here soon at the Forum (which is partly owned by a church, but anyway)! On the radio they announced that Ashanti is replacing Mariah Carey as the opening act. After reading this announcement, why did the female host say, " Make sure your door is locked girl." I fell out! It was wrong, but oh so right!

Hookkerr Hookkerr

this song is a little party joint but there's a little drama surrounding it. people here in texas--more specifically houston, have heard of dj hi-c and mc qua. they were real good friends who used to do parties here in houston and in dallas a lot. they created this dance called the hookkerr hookkerr and had a song to it. if you are familiar with screwed & chopped, and paul wall and chamillionaire, you've probably heard "after the kappa." the hookkerr hookkerr song has that beat--unscrewed.

for whatever reason, hi-c and qua disbanded but each wanted to claim the dance and each has their own song. since hi-c deejays so many parties here in houston, a lot of people became familiar with his song (it's like "hookity-hook with it"--very crunk song) but people were familiar with the beat that qua kept for his version of the song.

neither song was being played on the radio because the goal of radio is to play songs that are available on an album for purchase. well, qua got some a well-known freestyler here in houston, kiatti, and the son (a.j.) of a radio personality on his version of the song and all of a sudden ( ), the song is playing on the radio.

poor hi-c can't get any justice for his song. i feel so bad for him because me and him are cool and he's "good people." he just can't get a break. the poor man has to resort to turning parties that he d.j.s into personal promotional appearances and mini-concerts.

if you are looking for it on the internet, try looking under m.c. qua. try to find d.j. hi-c's version too. his is better to me. as for the dance, i'll try to describe it: bend your knees slightly and lean forward a bit. now roll your shoulders in a circular motion toward the right (or left). if you roll to the right, throw your right bow too. i know it sounds crazy but when you do it to the music, it is crunk.

**********************

on another note, i got js' new album. it was only $6.99 at bestbuy so i said "what the hell" and bought it. it is actually a good cd! of course there is production by r. kelly so the beats are tyte. not a bad investment at all

I thought about getting it. I am also considering getting Mya, Ashanti, Lumidee, and Javier. I heard some of Mya @ MTV.com. It was cool. I don't know about Ashanti. Lumi has me hooked on that "Never Leave (Uhh Ohh)," and I am thinking about giving Javier a try. I'll decide by Saturday (before they go off sale )

Angry Leave Mya in the store...

This CD turned out to be a big disappointment to me. There are only about 3 songs that I like on the entire CD. Needless to say that it won't be in heavy rotation like Beyonce's. And if the CD isn't bad enough, I also got stuck with the MYA calendar that I can definately do without.

Can you list the hottest tracks...cause um...I mean not me personally, but I know some GCers download and would like to hear some. *cough*

P.S. For those that bought Mya's CD could y'all do that too? lol. Just for the other GCers who might download even though it is illegal.

P.S. I just um..came across Kelis' CD Wanderland that wasn't released in the U.S....HC that album is the hotttttttness!!! I think the only song that got any play over here was Young, Fresh, and New, but that song is BANGIN! Check out Popular Thug with the Clipse, although I read somewhere that the Neptunes are gonna put Nas on there and put it on their Clones CD. Anyhoo, this CD rules.

Really, I thought that this CD was definitely better than her last one, which I hated. The best song from the last CD was the "Best of Me" remix, which wasn't on the album, you get my drift. I do have to agree though that it's not in heavy rotation like my Beyonce CD.

I know I'll catch some slack for this one, but I am feeling R. Kelly's new song, "Thoia Thong". It's from his upcoming CD, The R. in R&B Collection, Volume 1.
