Embarassing Rush Moments
SORORS AND SISTERFRIENDS-
I saw this post on another website, and found it kind of interesting. What are some of the most embarassing rush moments you can recall.
I got two--
This girl at my college spilled red punch on one of the Delta's Cream Suit. I felt bad for her...she was teased all over campus.
At my own rush, a woman got up and asked what was on the DAT! DUH...why would they tell you that (shaking my head).

One of my friends wore a PINK dress to the Delta rush at her school. Not an informational...RUSH. I tried to convince the child not to wear it but she swore that her dress was fucshia not pink. I was like whatever girl...the color is too close...don't wear it. She was the talk of the yard.
Some folks just don't listen....

I didn't really have any embarrasing moments. One girl did wear pink. A lot of girls are scared to drink the punch because its red..., and I did see some waering pink or green nail polish. If this was closed to Sorors, I would love to exchange some other stories....

Ok this one chick at my rush was like, "I just had a baby so I do not have any community service hours because I have been too busy! So what would you suggest I do." As you could imagine a sea of chatter filled the auditorium and the chapter president said "I would suggest you hold off on your pursuit of membership into DST for now."
My thinking was, "How are you going to get into a public-service organization with no public service?????"
That's my 13

When we were holding rush, one interested young lady came in the same exact red suit that I had on. She had on white stockings too (and I hate a white stocking)!

I'm frightened that she wore a red suit to the rush! I'm appalled she wore white stockings. what would have been audacious is if she had on matching white, leather shoes

Well, you should have given her credit for having good taste.

I attended a Delta rush where a WOMAN stood up and asked what 'exactly' would be covered during MIP-lol. Needless to say, the room was filled w/groans & laughter.

Forgive me if this thread was intended for your sorority only, but the posts have reminded me of some of the "outrageous moments" my LGLO chapter has seen during recruitment. (We don't have rush, but we have mandatory informational events.) Anyway, one time, a young lady sat in the VERY back of an informational and just kicked her heels up on the desk in front of her, and was tipping her head back popping bubble gum (I talking BIG bubbles) the entire time. I was trying not to draw attention to her because I think that is what she wanted, so we just continued on with our talk. But then she was like "look, if you are not going to tell us what you do in your process, there is no point to me staying here."
Another time, there was an interested woman who was "CEO" of her own "party crew." She was known all over campus and the area for being a party promoter and just generally not being respectful of women (basically she would exploit her friends at the parties and on the party fliers, etc.). Well, she came to a mandatory event, and in the middle of it, she raised her hand and said, "You know, I think that I can make this organization so much better and make it into something worthwhile." (We are the first LGLO of any kind to be founded on the west coast). Needless to say, she did not go into the membership process.
Yet another time, we were at a fraternity party and we were hanging out at the bottom of the stairs with some non-members, just chatting with them. Low and behold, one of the women who had previously shown up to a mandatory event and made a really great impression literally fell down the stairs because she was drunk. She landed at our feet and yelled, "oh hey, you are my future sisters! I LOVE YOU!" We helped her get back to her dorm safely, but she never did pursue my organization. In fact, she was so embarrased every time she saw us on campus.
Don't get me wrong, we attract LOTS of great women, but sometimes you get a couple of odd-balls!

A self-selection process...
Some people weed themselves out.

Hello All!!! Just wanted to stop by and give my story. During the last rush that Delta had on my campus there were ladies who wore red and white....together to attend!!! I was a freshman at the time and on my campus you have to be at least a sphomore to pledge (so...I didn't go). But, I did see lots of interest with red suits and red pumps!!!! One sistah had red finger nails with some kind of white design on them!!!! My suite-mate wore a "Future Delta" tee-shirt (that was the first time I had ever seen one of those shirts)!!! I thought it was a bad idea...it just seemed a little premature to me.....

ok..is it just me or do the same people always have a example of "someone esle" wearing nalia or "Future" this or that.....or some kind of "I'm in the loop" story
a hint to the wise should suffice sooo...STOP TRYING SO HARD......It personally iritates the mess out of me when people do this ...its comes off as a cross between being a kissass and a know it all.....I'm impressed by the prospective who has mad community service hours, has a strong knowledge of of my organizations history, and can bring some valuable assets to Delta...not the one who HAS to answer EVERY question at a program or who makes a detour got to be in my path on the yard to speak.....Ladies believe me, your actions when you are not around us speaks volumes, everything gets back..............(maybe I'm just in a bad mood )

At a rush I attended, a girl sitting in the front row asked if she didn't make line, could she get her money returned. When expectations of ceremonial dress was explained, the same girl whispered to those around her if the pearls had to be real. Then she kept asking questions that had already been covered. You could actually feel the eyeball rolling around the room. I was embarrassed for her.
