Saturday Morning Cartoons
Whatever happened to Saturday Morning Cartoons? Nowadays it's news all day on NBC and CBS, and a few sucky cartoons on ABC. WB is okay, it'll do for the times. What was your favorite Saturday Morning Cartoon? Here are some of mine:
The Smurfs
Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends
Pole Position
Super Mario Brothers

Bugs Bunny and the Roadrunner... before the anti-violence crowd emasculated those cartoons!

i remember the Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show and School House Rock. I even liked when ABC had Disney One Saturday Morning. now that is gone. If I wake up ealry enough, i can catch rugrats and 7 a.m. on CBS. now everything just sucks. ABC used to have to best line up. i guess it doesnt matter now, since i work on saturdays from 6 a.m.- 12:00p.m.
saturday mornings are like sunday afternoons- THEY SUCK!!

Schoolhouse Rock is and always will be a CLASSIC television institution. I have them on tape and love to watch them. I remember watching TV with a big ass bowl of cereal and just loving every minute until Soul Train came on. When Soul Train came on, it was time to go outside and play! Saturday mornings will never be the same for our kids and I feel bad about that! Now, they're shipped off to a myriad of team sports practices, classes, etc. When do kids get to be kids? They deserve some time to relax too!

The Smurfs
The Snorks
Fraggel Rock
Bugs Bunny
My Little Pony (I know, I'm a dork)
Alvin and the Chipmunks
And I also liked TNBC, with all those shows meant for "older" kids. Most of them were pretty dorky, but I really liked the one they had recently, before they stopped showing them, about the girl art student from San Francisco and her boyfriend in her new town. I forget the name. The friend worked in a record shop and had dreads.

Haha, that reminds me...a couple of years ago, they were rerunning PeeWee's Playhouse on cable somewhere, and my brother (he's 10 yrs younger than me) was watching it. I came in and saw what he was watching, and I said, "Oh, I used to watch this all the time when I was a kid!" He said, "No, you couldn't have, because it's a new show." I couldn't convince him otherwise.
Mecka-Lecka Hi, Mecka-Hiney-Ho!
BTW, how funny is it that Lawrence Fishburn was Cowboy Curtis?

Totally down with She-ra and Rainbow Bright!! I actually knocked out my 2 front teeth playing She-ra when I was 3 (I jumped off a wall and landed on my face).

Oh, no, I forgot one of the best! (Although I think it was only on weekday mornings because I definitely missed the school bus a couple of times because I wanted to finish watching it):
JEM
She is truly, truly, truly outrageous.

Bugs and Tweety (I have been watching Looney Tunes even I was a baby)
Pac-Man
Scooby Doo
Superfriends
It is a pity that kids today (and kids at heart) aren't offered more choices on cartoons to watch Saturdays!
