First damange to your car
ARGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I'm so pissed off.
First, when I leave my apartment this morning, there appears to be a street fair setting up about a block down, great, fine, I can deal.
I turn down the one street to go around to block, and what do I run into? A gay pride parade! Going down a residential street (granted, one of the nicer city shopping districts was a street away, but still).
So there I am, sitting in my car for ten minutes.... watching drag queens walk by, smiling, waving, and blowing me kisses. I'm trying to be polite, because in a way it is sorta funny, but I JUST WANT TO CROSS MY CAR OVER THE DAMN STREET so I can get to my parents. There's no cops around controlling it either.
So fine, I drive home through horrendous traffic.
Come back to my apt, and there are almost NO spots on either side of my street (I live in the city, it's all parallel). I try to squeeze in this one spot, thinking I can almost make it, and bang, I hit a tree. Not very hard, but hard enough to put a decent size dent in the back corner of my car. Thankfully, didn't break any lights and don't think I even scraped any paint.
But this is my first injury to my very first car!
Any other frustrating stories about your baby's first damage?

I was a senior in high school when I got my first car, and I loved it to death. My over protective mother wouldn't let me drive it to my bf's house late at night because you had to drive through a scary part of town to get there. Well, SHE thought it was scary, but it really wasn't. Anyway.
So I would always tell her I was going to see another friend and go over to his house. One night I had done so, and we were feeling adventurous, so we decided to find a dark area and make out in the car. It was one of those super hot and sticky nights, so I kept the car running and the AC on while we were going at it. At one point, he got a cramp in his leg. He tried to relieve it by straightening it out. I swear to god, his foot BARELY tapped the windshield, and it SHATTERED. We think it was because there was such a contrast in climate from the outside and the inside of the car. I was so upset, but I wasn't sure if I was upset because my precious baby car got hurt, or because I had no way of explaining to my mom how it got shattered!
He and I still laugh about it to this day. We haven't dated in five years, but we're still really close.

But what a great story you got out of it...
You get to tell people when they ask how it happened, "Well, see, there were these drag queens..."
Better than, "Um, I didnt see the fence..."

I got my first new car last November!! I absolutely love it and took awesome care of it.
Then one day as I was driving to south texas to visit family & friends at my first university, I was in Fort Worth, driving behind an 18-wheeler and the 18-wheeler kicked up a huge rock that hit my windshield and made a small crack. I was SOOOO MAD. I haven't driven behind an 18-wheeler since.
The weird thing is, almost every time I'm driving home and driving through Fort Worth to get home, something weird on the road happens. Like one time I was driving behind this truck, whose owner apparently didn't know how to secure anything in the bed of the truck, and all of a sudden, things started flying out of the bed of the truck There were pots and pans everywhere .. in all 4 lanes, and that seriously pissed off the people who were unfortunate enough to be driving behind this guy. I was lucky and nothing hit my windshield... instead one of the small pots went in between my tires, but I did hear it hit the bottom of my car as I drove over it.
Seriously.. WHO puts pots and pans in the bed of a truck that will be driving over 60 mph???

Last December, a couple of days before Christmas, my car got hit... while PARKED. I had been at work all day (it was a Saturday) and I got home and had to park my car on the side of the little parking lot. I lived in a townhouse and all the spaces were taken because one of the neighbors was having a party. Mind you, this was like 3:30 in the afternoon. So I go inside and I call my parents to chat, and I'm in there for about 20 minutes, and I come back out because I'm going to my boyfriend's house, and I see something that makes me stop dead in my tracks. There is a HUGE dent in the driver's side door of my brand new car! And whoever did it, of course, was nowhere to be found. And everyone I saw leaving the house with the party was all drunk. Come on, you're drunk at freaking 3:30 pm??? So I'm convinced it was some drunk dumba$$ who hit my car and took off. Lucky for me, my dad's very good friend is a body mechanic and he fixed it for free. Now you can't even tell it was ever hit!
In high school, someone hit my parked car at school when I was standing right next to it. Lucky for him, HIS dad is a body mechanic and therefore didn't have to shell out the $500 it cost to fix it! What is it with me and my car getting hit while parked?

I got my new car in January of 2002. The entire spring semester, I parked in the furthest parking spot there was in the school parking lot. I was seriously like 10 minutes away from the college (my school is really small so that is really far away for a parking spot). All semester, nothing happens to my car Days before graduation, I come out to my car, and what do I see???? A door-ding mark on my passenger side door! I was so pissed off! It wasn't very large, but still, I was mad.
Man, I hate rude drivers! And parkers!

my car has been keyed, dented by someone banging a blunt object against the door, and broken into twice. Passenger side window and driver side vent windows both had to be replaced within 6 months.
and of course, i have run into cars parking in the non regulation size parking spots in the school parking garage. Luckily, only damage was done to my car.

My first "nice & new' car was a pretty, red Mazda RX-7 convertible that I got shortly before John and I got married. While we were on our honeymoon, someone threw a brick through the drivers side window. Parked in our driveway!!!
Shortly thereafter, I heard through the grapevine that it was my ex-boyfriend who did it.
Sorry about your "baby", Dani

Well, I'm lucky enough to have 2 cars (one for summer, one for winter).
The first accident I had w/my summer car is when I was pulling out of one of the driveways on campus when I turned too sharp and the front right end goes over a foot down into mud and hits the concrete road. *ouch* Thankfully it just screwed up my license plate, lol!
The first accident with my winter car (an SUV) was just painful for me... Me and my boyfriend were on our way to the mall when the car in front of us slammed on his brakes to turn. (Keep in mind it was foggy and the roads were slick from the previous rain) I had stopped in time but the guy behind me (who was tailgating me the ENTIRE way) didn't. Little S-10 w/a brush grill hits the tailgate of my Jimmy around 40 mph. *grrs* Good part..after the cops came and all...we still made it to the mall!

While I can't prove it, when i was at my old apartment the neighbors were out throwing the football in the parking lot. The next morning when I go down to my car there is a big dent on the side of my car.

I have two -- one to the interior and one to the exterior.
The interior damage I must attribute to my dear old dad. He drove it to church the day after I brought it home from the dealership. Being older, he had never driven an import car (I have a Nissan) and he thought my wiper handle was the gear shift! Snap!
The first exterior damage was caused by me. A few months after replacing the wiper handle, I drove home after a very trying night at work. There was a truck double parked in the road ahead. I drove around the truck, but came over too soon and I heard a loud crack! It wasn't until I turned the corner that I realized that I had knocked my passenger-side mirror off! There were enough cables to keep it from falling off, and my father was able to duct-tape it in place until I could replace it.

I've had my car almost two years now, but last October I was driving to a friend's house to do some very difficult homework. I was stressed, overworked, and in a hurry so I could get to bed at a decent hour. I pulled out of the parking spot and whacked my car against the pole in the carport right by the headlight. It was mostly paint from the pole that came off (it was white and my car is black), but there's a little dent as well. When I scrubbed at it, the dent was barely noticeable, but it still really upset me. It's not worth worrying about though.
