Moderators' vent... and it's LONG overdue

I'm curious about something, and this is kind of a random thought. If you initiate a conversation, then you get a response you don't want to hear, so you respond, "it's not that serious," was it serious enough for you to start the conversation in the first place? I mean, what does that mean? Or if you continue to respond... if you are responding, is it serious, or no? I don't get that, and to tell you the truth, it kinda ticks me off. If it's not that serious, then SHUT UP TALKIN' TO ME!!! Period. If it's not that serious, why did you spend time telling me about it in the first place? And who do people think they are anyway? What if it's serious to me? Who are you to belittle what I think is serious? I mean, really. People need to get over themselves, for real.

I've never told you all this, but my life is so completely empty and unfulfilling. As I am at work all day with 12 teenage girls, the only thing on my mind is how many threads I can delete on GC. I mean, seriously, that's all I think about: whose thread can I lock today. And I'll tell you something else, too. I have no life. I LIVE for this little contraption they call a computer. I mean, I COULD go out and kick it, but why? When I have GreekChat to keep my company? The thing of it is, I have tried to get a life, but I can't seem to find where they sell them at. It's a sad state of reality, it really is. So until then, my long-term goal is to make all GCers' lives a living hell. That's pretty much all I want out of life. Plus the orgasms that you get from it are out of this world. Nothing compares to GC. Nothing. So as you see, in my life, the sun rises and sets on GC. So to have someone tell me that it's not that serious really breaks me apart. It's as if my entire perception of reality has been challenged.

And I'll tell you all exactly what I'm talking about, because frankly, I'm tired of it. I'm tired of people talking about moderators and how they run their forums. I'm tired of it. SICK AND TIRED OF IT. If you don't like it, WHY ARE YOU HERE????? I honestly don't understand it. STEP!!! The truth of the matter is, there are A TON of posters who like it around here. So we could really give a you know what about the ones who don't like it. STOP COMING TO GREEKCHAT. Just stop coming. You think we pressed? Stop coming up in here, then. I have been called all kinds of names over this. And I have been as cordial as I can be. But I'ma let you know, the NEXT PERSON THAT CALLS A NAME, YOU BETTA BE ABLE TO TAKE IT IF YOU CAN DISH IT OUT!!! Because now, it's getting personal. And if you are making personal attacks against people, expect them to take it seriously. Not that serious my arse.

I'm here to tell you this, too. There is someone out there who thinks that YOU don't think YOUR isht stinks. So worry about wiping YOUR OWN behind, and stay from up out of mine. It's so funny to me how people trip off of the moderators. So funny. Guess what? Some of us trip off of y'all too. Some of y'all on here are STRAIGHT HATEFUL. And have the nerve to try and foster a sense of community. Whatever. I'm tired of it. Feel as though you can say whatever you want, regardless if it hurts someone's feelings or not. And then have the nerve to say crap like it's not that serious and get a life and all that jazz. Why don't you take your own advice? Tell someone they post too much. But you are clearly in here reading. Go on somewhere with that, for real. Because unless you spent JUST AS MUCH time up in here, you wouldn't even know people's posting patterns.

In closing, I'd just like to say... we don't run GC, but you know what, NEITHER DO YOU.

You know what? It has always been a pet peeve of mine when I am discussing/debating with someone and they say "it ain't that serious." Well right until you made that declaration, it must have BEEN that serious since your were participating in the conversation up to that point!

Also I, too, get aggravated with the people who come here and try to belittle other posters or our threads. What purpose does that serve? If you don't like the thread, DON'T RESPOND. If you don't like the poster, well that is your decision. But why hate on them on a public forum? That is just immaturity, if you ask me. It is one thing to disagree and have a discussion about a topic. It is a whole nother subject when people start name-calling and getting personal.

What brought this thread about anyway?? Inquiring minds wanna know!!

Just for the record, even though I am not on here a lot-->> I do enjoy the forum and the Moderators on this forum (and DSTs) has stopped a lot of non-sense.

When I look on forums, I am usually looking for something that is funny or different, when I see ignorance, I leave.

Ideal08, I think that you are a great moderator. It's hard when someone takes thier foolishness to the next level by adding personal insults. Don't let those clowns ruin your day. Some people are just evil that way.

I, for one, appreciate the fine job that all the moderators do, especially the NPHC forums. The topics are always so interesting and the comments are very engaging and often witty. Hats off to our mods!!!!!!!

Thank you, sigmadiva, and everyone! I know I don't go off often, but someone did get under my skin. I will be the better person and at least not bust them out, but I was a little miffed. I'm definitely taking a LONG break. I am overwhelmed and stressed, and I just think people should be nice to other people. Is that so much to ask? I don't like when people say hurtful things to other people, especially when you don't know them. All people know about us is what we post. They don't know how we spend our time when we are not posting on GC. All they can do is ASSume. At any rate, I'm cool now.

That was one heck of a post! I just wanted to respond though I KNOW you weren't being serious -esp about the big "O"!

I would love you to post this in Chit Chat because SOMETIMES, it seems like things get so twisted and I might assume, moderators get pummeled for not deleting and closing every other post/thread, OR deleting/closing every other post/thread!

I wouldn't want your job in a million years, too much garbage to deal with! You and the other Mods are to be commended for the time you put in! (Even though I don't always agree 100%...it ain't my call!)
