Wedding Songs - HELP
Ha! I didnt even think of it til I saw the "first dance at your wedding" post...
Im supposed to be singing in my friends wedding this summer, but I might not be because she couldnt find a song!
She wants something not too contemporary and not too God-dy...
Any ideas?!
Help!

I would do a search on the internet for wedding songs (not just entering and exiting songs). I know at my cousin's wedding they sang "Keeper of the Stars" but that might be too country for some (although it doesn't have to be). At another wedding I attended once they sang "From this Moment" by Shania Twain.
Those are the only songs I remember hearing...so the rest must not have been memorable. LOL!

"In My Life" The Beatles
"We May Never Pass This Way Again" Seals & Crofts
"Whatever Happens" Vanessa Williams

At what point in the ceremony are you singing? At my cousin's wedding, someone sang "Butterfly Kisses" at the very beginning of the ceremony when she was at the alter with her dad, before he gave her away. Everyone was in tears.

My cousin gave out burned CDs of wedding songs as her favors, my favorites were Anne Murray's "Could I Have This Dance?" and anything Jim Brickman..."My Destiny"...etc.
But my all time favorite is Kenny Lattimore's "For You". I'm sure you could do it if you just changed the key just a notch.

It's a tough one unless you have a killer voice, but I like "Ave Maria."

Have you thought of "At Last" by Etta James?? It's really beautiful, and very classic and romantic. Also, "Somebody" by Depeche Mode (I know what you're thinking) is great song, and has been covered by Veruca Salt, so it can be done well by a girl. That one is also not well known, if she's looking for something not overdone
